We visited again in Nov 2013 and just love the Animal Kingdom. We got to the park early as we were scheduled for a special treat, the wild Africa trek, (see separate review). This lasted over 3 hours, and then we went, via fast pass, to the lion king show-which is always a hit. We then rode Expedition Everest and as always enjoy it. We also for the first time got to see Mickey's Jingle Jungle parade, which I have tried to catch for several years, it was fun and we had parade side seats on a bench which made it all the better. We ate at the Rain forest café for another good meal for dinner, and then went and visited both Tigger and Poo, with absolutely no wait in the evening.

This was the one day of our family vacation that it rained on. However, the Animal Kingdom was still a magical place to be.

I hear folks discussing why spend valuable time at the zoo? It is so much more than a zoo. One really needs to plan on a day to immerse themselves in the lands and stories behind each land. Oh yes and then there is Kilinmajaro Salaries, Expedition Everest, Dinoland and the walking tours....

This is a truly fantastic excursion and worthy of time and any walking required. The cooler days of January made the animals all the more relaxed and active. The African Safari ride was a great experience and all the animals were visible right after their nine o'clock feeding. Returning for a second Ride and visit after their lunch feeding found the relaxed and mostly dormant as most typicality sleep the majority of their day. Realizing the African Desert heat that trait of sleeping in heat of the day reflects why winter and morning excursions would be better. Lots of credit to the drivers and their oration and vigilance on every tour circuit they continue to provide visitors. The "Bugs Life" movie is fantastic and 3d realism effects make it a hit. This may be considered only a half day park, but worth the time and visit, a very wild life informative, scenic and educational location to visit and enjoy.

I have been to Disney many many times and have to say AK is best in winter months. The animals seem happier and more relaxed. We were able to see and do more. This was the first time we were able to visit every area of the park and truly enjoy it.
