It was hot and very crowded- which we expected on an afternoon in August. Suggest going in cooler or rainier weather - none of the animals were active for the safari, it was buggy and our family was definitely worn out from the previous days of touring the World! When we return we will hit AK earlier in our vacation!

Atmosphere-wise, Animal Kingdom is my favorite Disney park. You actually feel like you are Africa or Asia. It's like a completely different world. It seamlessly blends animals with the attractions and doesn't really feel like a zoo. Expedition Everest is my favorite Disney attraction and the Finding Nemo and Lion King shows are incredible. The park also has great food (I recommend the Flame Tree Barbecue and the Asian counter service place). The park closes earlier than the others and it lacks nighttime entertainment, so I recommend a Park Hopper pass and then you can go watch fireworks at another park.

After universal this is easily number 2. It is not a zoo nor a park but a nicely designed in between.

The park is medium sized so do the top rides first and do the usual fastpass and ride mix.

The yeti ride was lots of fun.

Out of all the best we also had the best food at animal kingdom.

The animals are real, the rides are full of adventure and this park is a must for an average weather day. If hot, animals seek shade, if wet, animals seek shelter, so for the best experience visit on a cloudy day. Only negative (Safari Tour) not very disabled friendly. Queue with other guests, but then get penned into a seperate area after a 1 hour queue, only to wait a further 25 minutes. Not fair and this kind of put a cloud on the experience.

As good as all the other Disney Parks. Some good roller coasters also. Amazing animals. We spent one full day here and really could have done another to fit everything in.
