We had a full day here getting here first thing at opening time, started with a Safari where we got up close with a huge variety of animals in no more than half an hour. Some excellent live shows too, wasn't too excited at the prospect of Finding Nemo - The Show or The Lion King - The Musical but they were both brilliant. Kids met lots of the Disney characters too like Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto as well as King Louis and Baloo. Even the on site food was very good. Will return again.

this review is 11 years old, but from some attraction's changes, i believe the main ones and events still maintain the same magic.
This was the 4th park visited in a 9 day "big kid, young adult" honeymoon that compromised the 4 Disney parks, the 2 Universal, SeaWorld, Cape Canaveral and Discovery Cove.
It was my 2nd time at the Disney parks, the first one in 1993, when Animal Kingdom was not built yet.
As on the other parks, a lot of attractions were teenager/adult built, so kids under a specific height go for a deception and a parents nightmare.
Also, the parks are very big so bringing young children needs careful management since with 30ºC and great distances to cover, a lot of attractions will be missed.
FastPass is a must to be able to see all attractions on a a single day, so choose the main attractions first to get the schedule for the day.
Being a new park it was a bit "smoother" to cover than Epcot for example.
Will return as soon as possible.

We were able to complete this park in one day. The themeing of the areas are very realistic down to the offerings on the trees in Asia. The animal look well cared for and were active.
Just an FYI the park seemed to be designed weirdly - Discovery Island is the central part of it. You can not start clockwise and work your way around the park. You go to Discovery Island- Go to Africa- You can go from Africa to Asia and then to Dino Land but instead of being able to leave the park striaight way- you have to go back to Discovery Island to be able to exit the park. It's not big deal but it did make getting around seem a tad difficult-

WE love animals so got her early (very advisable) and made a full day of it which you will need. It wasn't too hot when we visited but were warned if it does get too hot then the animals may hide in the height of the day. The Kilimanjaro safari was the best part of the day and worth going on twice. You can also pay extra for a private tour which we didn't do. The Lion King and Finding Nemo shows were colourful and awesome so well worth planning for. There is so much to see and everywhere you look there is wonderful displays and shops especially walking through Africa. Top notch day out

The safari was the best part - All sorts of animals without walking and a cool theme. The layout of the park isn't as smooth as most zoos but you can figure it out. I would say probably about 6-8 hours to see most everything and hit a couple rides.
