I grew up going to Sea World in San Diego but I have to say I like this one better. Since our kids are small we didn't get to ride most of the rides but the Shamu kids area was awesome and almost no lines on those rides (I think we rode the kids coaster something like 7 times in an hour and a 1/2, my 2 year old loved it.)

Without getting into the Blackfish debate, we were just disappointed in general in the Killer Whale show as it was an odd mix of preachy conservationism combined with getting the Whales to soak the audience. A far better show with more action is the Dolphin show which is absolutely phenomenal

SeaWorld was running a discounted sale for weekday tickets so for $65 a person this was a good value..

Over 30 years since we visited here but still as wonderful as 1st visit. Something for everyone but "Shamu" is still excellent tho glad to see they reduced the shows to only twice a day and have revamped it with a show of acrobats on wires which was great. I still have reservations about keeping Orcas in captivity & training them to perform tho they all seem to enjoy performing.Sea lion show a bit disappointing tho the white face painted mime artist before the show starts is hilarious and had everybody in stitches. The dolphins brilliant as always. Best show for me was "Pets Ahoy".They have rescued various animals - cats, dogs, pigs, ducks etc etc from animal shelters and trained them to do routines. It was abs amazing - how they train cats I can't believe knowing how spoilt & awkward mine are. I liked the fact that they constantly told people to consider getting a rescue animal rather than buying a "pedigree" when wanting a pet and at the end they allowed people to pet the pets and ask questions. Great show Sea World well done! The animal exhibits are briliant tho $5 a tiny tray of food bit much. Coasters A1 if you like thrills - Atlantis a good ride with steep dive into water. Wild Arctic I felt very sick! The new Antartica penguin ride is very good. Still a great day out tho $17 to park - too much! Bought all day dining deal in UK well worth it as had breakfast, lunch & dinner + numerous drinks.Get there early best advice I can give for all the parks - & drink plenty - lots of walking involved so comfortable shoes a must - doesn't matter what they look like. I also took a Spanish style fan. People use their park maps etc but nothing like a proper fan to keep you cool when sitting for outdoor shows.Look forward to going back here as all the other parks & please people give yourself time to appreciate the beauty - the plantings etc- of the parks - not just the rides. Sea World had some amazing displays built out of junk salvaged from beaches which were reminders of just how caring we should be about our environment.Another criticism of this & all the parks & it is the same in the UK. Why try & sell souvenir items at such extortionate prices when if they reduced their prices they would sell much more. There would then be less parents under pressure to buy stuff they cant afford & more happy kids. We spoke to Americans & they say they tell theor kids - look we;re going to so and so but be warned - we are not buying anything! Good advice

I normally don't purchase advance tickets on line however, by doing so we saved enough to purchase the all you can eat (must have) bracelet at a minimal cost. We also saved with the parking and a keepsake photograph in frame. We found ourselves with extra time while waiting for shows which isn't a bad thing since we could swing into a restaurant and grab a drink to cool down. We are not with children or teens so the ride portion of the park wasn't appealing. Would have liked to see a water- ski show in the lagoon like San Antonio Sea World presents. Grounds are beautifully maintained and so enjoy the large variety of photo opportunities. Miss the excitement of Shamu of years ago but continue to enjoy Seymour and company.

It has been a while since our last Sea World adventure and out first after watching the Documentary "BLACK FISH" which really changed my family's life. That being said despite our views about Sea world keeping Killer Whales(dolphins) in captivity far too small for them to live a meaningful life. We really like the ability to interact with the animals, touch the dolphins and other sea life. Sea World is a pleasant family resort which combines a Zoo, aquarium, and a theme park. There is several roller coasters and rides with lines that are a far less wait than Disney.

The Park is Big and a lot of walking to get from the main roller coasters to the whales, but make sure if you have small children you take the time to go to the kids park, its a bit of a walk to the far back corner but you will NOT be disappointed, there is plenty of activities for the children including a huge covered jungle arena, smaller roller coasters and rides for the children. there is picnic tables with shade for parents to enjoy a snack while watching their children play!

All of the Seaworld shows are remarkable! How can they train a 12000 lb whale to do so many tricks, while I can't even get my dog to stop peeing on the floor??? Amazing animal interactions. Highlight of my day...petting a dolphin. If you choose to go to one of the scheduled dolphin feedings, you will get to hand feed, as well as pet a dolphin! Amazing creatures!! It's only $7 to participate. Also, if you take the "behind the scenes tour," you will get a chance to pet a penguin, and personally see Seaworlds animal rescue/rehab efforts. They really do some amazing things, despite the bad publicity they got from the movie Blackfish.
