“Not as good the second time”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2013

We returned to the Berowra Fish Cafe with friends because we enjoyed the chips so much last time, but as a previous reviewer noted, the standard seems to be dropping.

The service was very slow. Basically there just weren't enough people in the kitchen to cope with the number of customers on a pleasant Saturday lunch time. We had to wait quite some time while staff finished salad preparation and food delivery before they acknowledged our presence and took our order.

To us the chips didn't seem the be the unique hand cut ones we had last time, but rather a wide flat commercial variety found in a few clubs around NSW They have a thin crispy layer on the outside, but are floury inside - not the thick crisp outside and nice firm insides that we remembered. Disappointing also was that my battered fish and the grilled Barramundi our friend ordered, both had bones in them.

Given that it is such a nice location, we hope the day of our visit was a momentary lapse in standard.

“"A pleasant drive for lunch"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

Take the winding road from Berowra to the car ferry,a pleasant short trip across the river.
The cafe is a short drive from where the car ferry journey stops on the other side of the river.
Stop for a great fish and chip meal before heading back through rural Arcadia and the Galston gorge, a great place to Take your overseas visitors to smell the gum trees

“Pleasantly Surprised”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Living locally, the Berowra Waters Fish Cafe had become a regular haunt to enjoy some excellent fish and chips along with a bottle of your best BYO (don't forget to bring your own glasses too unless you prefer plastic cups). Over time though, we noticed that the quality of the food gradually began to slip and the portion sizes were getting smaller and smaller. Of course, whenever this starts to happen, the location loses its attractiveness, and so we stopped going.

This week however, someone recalled this place again so we decided to give it another go. The location was as delightful as ever but the servings of fish and chips had returned to their former "scrumptiousness". The flathead fillets were cooked to perfection and the portions were truely generous. Perfect chips and just the right amount of salad - oh joy!

Well done to this place for picking up its game and we'll certainly be returning for more. Give it a go - you won't be disappointed.

“Delicious food with a memorable view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2013

When I was in Sydney in Oct 2012, one of my friends brought me to Berowra Waters Fish Cafe. I learnt that this cafe offers some of the best Fish and Chips in Sydney. My friend and I ordered the seafood platter to share.

Besides having the wonderful company of my friend and her daughter, the food from the cafe was delicious. The seafood was fish. The taste of the scallop, crabsticks, fish and calamari rings were tasty.

The Berowra Waters Fish Cafe is situated at the spectacular Berowra Waters within the Marina complex. I was happily enjoying the beautiful views while I was enjoying the delicious lunch. The scenic views were simply amazing.

“Nice view for the landlocked !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

This is a cute spot for an easy dinner with friends and on a hot night, just the ticket for some decent fish and chips with a view. Catch the car ferry from Berowra side...it doesn't take long, but adds to the fun of the trip.
