“Get place to spend the day.”

Yesterday we went to Solomon's Castle. What a blast. This place is really off the beaten path but worth the drive. It is about 47 miles from Bradenton but it is a very pleasant ride. No traffic, great landscape of farms with cows and horses. They start you with a tour of the Gallery, our tour guide was Faith and she was wonderful. Everything in the Gallery is made by Solomon himself and there are some off the wall pieces of scultures and art. Very entertaining. After the tour you can walk the grounds which are nicely kept. We ate at the "Boat in the Moat" which Solomon also built. The food was wonderful and not expensive. You can also get served outside or in the other inside eating areas. There are two gift shops which also feature Solomon's art work. While we were eating Solomon himself came in and we thanked him for a wonderful experience. It is only $10.00 a person to get in. Try it!

“Extraordinary Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2012

Wow, what a place, so hard to believe one man had the imagination and drive to build this fabulous castle complete with a 'boat in the moat'. The guide was wonderful with a very witty script written by Mr Solomon himself - the only downside was we felt too rushed on the tour and there is so much to see, could have done with much longer to look around. There is something here for all ages and children would, I'm sure, be entranced by the whole experience. We also had coffee in the 'boat' and only wished we could have been there at dinner time too. All the staff, mostly family, are so welcoming and when we encountered Mr Solomon in his workshop he was only too pleased to chat and pose for photos. Would love to return some day, many thanks.

What a wonderful off the beaten track fun place to visit
One of those places you would never expect unless someone else has been
The Artist never throws anything away and has made so many items that show how repuroposing can work

“Homeschool Field Trip”

We had such a great day at the Castle! Cindy was our tour guide and she's very funny!!!! Our kids were treated well and the castle was quite amazing. The jokes and puns weren't really understandable for the kids but they enjoyed looking at all the cool artwork. Thanks for having us!!
