My mother was a snowbird, spending half the year in NH and the other half in Ocala, FL., right next door to Ocklawaha, FL where this restaurant is located. In February she passed away, and our whole family was in Ocala for her. Just hours after she passed, we left the hospital and her significant other suggested Alfie's Tavern because it was her favorite restaurant. He said that she always got the fish sandwich, so several of the family members got the sandwich in her memory. YUUUMMMYYYYY!!!!! Cooked to order fish, breaded just perfectly. My brother and I got chicken wings, from mild to burn your lips off, and they were so hotttt, and so goodddd!! Before we knew it, our server had us laughing up a storm, that we forgot the reason why we were in Ocala, if only for a few minutes. Atmosphere is very cool, looks like an old time fishing lodge, decorated smartly, and definitely a locals place. A must go to when in the area!

Like the food and atmosphere and most of the waitresses but your bathroom needs to be remodeled or more cleaning it sucks. Don't want to sit anywhere near those bathrooms the smell lingers throughout the restaurant. Sorry but needed to state the facts. Hoping for the best next time

Okay, so I went with a really bad attitude. The place is in the middle of nowhere. I thought it would have a decrepit swinging screen door and flies. I couldn't have been more wrong. First, they have a full bar, and it's very pretty. Second, our group of six was seated quickly at a nice round table so we could all talk to each other. Third, the service was attentive although there was a mixup over the bill--that happens. And last but not least, the food was very good. Four of us ordered the beer batter dipped fish with two sides for $9.99 each. Great fish, good sides. Two people ordered prime rib and said it was delicous. Hubby had the French Onion soup which he said was very good. The place is very clean, well lit, and very busy. When we were leaving around 8 PM, there were people waiting for tables to open up. I don't believe they take reservations so don't go if you're in a hurry.

We visited Alfies on 1-25-12, and we have to give a shout out to our server Nickie. Our service was fantastic, the food was great and the other girls there were super friendly- inre: Brandy. We drove from Ormond-bt-the-Sea and it was well worth the drive! The whole experience was awesome and we did recomend it to people who were looking for a nice drive and fantastic lunch! Thanks again to Nickie and Brandy! We had a great time there! Leeann and Mike.

We have lived about 10 miles from Alfie's for 6 years and have eaten there many times. We have an occasional breakfast, many, many, lunches, and a few dinners. For an older building it is always clean. The prime rib has always been good. We have always been happy with our lunches and the breakfasts have been very good. Prices are reasonable for the area. Service can be from very good to a little spotty, but we have never encountered the rudeness reported by others, and do not go often enough to be recognized as regulars as many others are.
