We had no advance reservation, but it was near I 75 so we took a chance. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Good internet in the room. We got a great price ($ 61.with discount) Would stay there again when passing through Ocala.

I'm a Miami native, and we drive up I-75 to Atlanta several times a year. Ocala is a great first stop going north, and a good stopping place just before you dive into Disney going south. This is the Florida Hill Country, long a place of lavish racehorse farms and spectacular huge old live oaks draped with Spanish Moss, Ocala today is a really beautiful little city, not to mention home to the best Florida attraction of all time, Silver Springs--still going strong, and still a stunning place. It's the one big central Florida attraction that's not plastic...it's a magnificent natural attraction.

We love Hampton Inns, and have stayed in them all over the country. This hotel is just a few blocks off I-75 on SW College Road, (Exit 350) and in the middle of every chain restaurant you can name--Outback, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Chili's, 5-Guys Burgers, and more. Also, Ocala's Paddock Mall with Macy's, Sears, etc. is just down the street. The hotel is a 3-story building with a pool in a well-landscaped courtyard. It's been a Hampton for years, and we've always enjoyed it--mostly the super-friendly staff and great free breakfast in the morning. Well, during 2012, Hampton decided to eliminate their inns with outside room doors, and this one has them. Each room gives to a breezeway or to a catwalk balcony--no long hallways. We never minded the outside doors--after all, this is Florida! In any case, Hampton put up a brand new bigger hotel just across the interstate, and this one, our favorite for years, became a Quality Inn. We went in anyway and found all's the same---same great people, same owner, same great breakfast. There's only one change...it's about $30 less per night than all the new Hamptons we stay in all the time. On the same trip, we stayed in a new Hampton in Tifton, GA, and paid $109. Our once-Hampton-now Quality-Inn in Ocala was $68. Sure the place is somewhat old, but it's clean and neat, and we love it. They still have smoking rooms, too. How often do you see prices for things you like going down? Stay there!!!

Room Tip: Any room is ok, and there is an elevator. Maybe away from the pool courtyard would be the quieter c...

We stayed here for one night on our way to get on a cruise ship in Cape Canaveral. I can say at first I was a little skeptical of the fact that the doors opened to the outside, and that it was older. However, once we got in our room I was surprised. It was updated and very clean. The bed was comfy, there was a nice flat screen TV, and both inside and outside the room were very quiet. Plus, it is very close to plenty of places to eat and a grocery store. For the price, this was a good value and again, clean, which is a big deal for me!

The main regret I have about this hotel is it had no refrigerator in the room. We've paid $45 for a room and get a frig. Otherwise, it's OK. It was clean, and comfortable. Old and outdated. The outdoor pool is nice in the middle courtyard.
Breakfast was great. Plenty of coffee and hot food, too.
It was a good deal at $63.34 with tax.

Would not recommend this hotel for a long term stay but it turned out to be a good place to spend one night. The furniture and bedding in our room looked like it was new. New floor in bathroom. Outside room entrances.

I'm adding this review to "second" what other reviewers have noted. It does not look like much from the outside.....but my room was clean, comfortable with NO wear and tear markings....bath also was clean with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was clean, fresh and inviting. The free Wi-fi worked well as did the flat screen TV. The "hot breakfast" had just about anything one could wish for. The only minor concern is that the walls are a "bit thin"....but that is the fault of the construction. If I were to return to this area, I certainly would book again at this Inn.
