I have alot of trouble finding a place where i really really like the food. Ive been everywhere in ocala, and stumbled on Authors. I have been going back ever since. There are no problems here. The sunday brunch buffet is killer! They have everything you could want for breakfast and lunch, and its all delicious! Its about $20 per person, but I dont mind paying because it doesnt matter what you put on your plate, you wont find anything you dont like. The place is great though. Its always very quiet, the secenery looking out the windows is either the pool area or horse pasture, and they have a horse drawn carrage ride from the main entrance, out back through a pasture, and back to the entrance. Its definately a quiet, beautiful relaxing place to enjoy a delicious meal.

From the friendly hostess, to the young but professional waitress and the outstanding food, this was a great special occasion dining experience.
The restaurant is buried in the back of the Hilton hotel, which is also buried and all but invisible on the busy SR 200 corridor. But it's worth your while to seek it out.
The seating is comfortable with a beautiful view of the property's grounds, including their own paddock and stable, which our server encouraged us to visit so we could interact with the hotel's little group of horses.
The food was perfect from start to finish. Everything was cooked to order and served professionally (none of that...."who gets the filet mignon, etc, etc).
Our young server was able to answer all of our questions about the menu. A huge plus (but we were told this only happens on certain days of the week) was a sommelier on the dining room floor, in full uniform including the chain and cup around his neck, to answer questions we had about the wine list and to make recommendations that turned out to be perfect for the entrees we had ordered.
All in all, a wonderful dining experience. I'm suprised the place wasn't more crowded on this particular Friday night. This IS a hidden jewel of a restaurant with a great dining room staff and a wonderful kitchen for them to work with.

My mother and I dined at Arthur's at the Hilton Ocala after a disastrous exerperince trying to get a table at Felix's (read my separate review). We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed superior service and excellent food. The restaurant was blissfully quiet, and it salvaged an evening that could have been disappointing. I recall that my bowl of she-crab soup was wonderful, and the rack of lamb was mild (a rare find) and perfectly cooked. This restaurant has gotten a reputation as just an average hotel dining establishment, but I disagree based on our dinner. We will be back.
