“Not sure what happened here...but it wasn't good.”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

I have previously eaten at Amrit Palace Indian Restaurant and enjoyed good food and decent service. On this occasion the meal started out with service a little slow but the food was delicious. One guest was disappointed that the restaurant did not have a bar other than wine and beer but I enjoy having a Kingfisher beer with Indian food and I was satisfied with that. Another guest had wine which was presented in a single serve bottle. My Rogan Josh and Naan bread were both delicious. One guest's Lamb Mushroom was said to be excellent as well as was another guest's Chicken Shahi Shaag. As we finished our meals our server disappeared, not from the restaurant but he ignored completely our efforts to get his attention. Eventually another server removed the dirty dishes from our table and we asked if we could get our check. At least twenty minutes passed before the check was brought to the table by again a different server. Meanwhile tables around us were getting their bills, paying and leaving! Then we attempted to get someone, anyone, to take the check and our credit cards so that we could pay the bill. But that was still not the end of the story. Another fifteen minutes passed once we had persuaded a server to take our credit cards before someone brought the checks back for us to sign and that happened only after one of the guests sought out management. This unnecessarily unpleasant dining experience is not likely to bring the two guests who had not been here before back to the restaurant. Whether I will risk this kind of treatment again is unlikely.

“Not Totally "The Real Deal"”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

Large and relatively modern setting. Waiters attentive but food not quite upto scratch. My sag ghost was rather sloppy without the chunks of lamb one usually associates with this dish. Aloo pakora had chunks of potato embedded in if and the chapatis were too crisp.the chef needs to visit Bradford in the UK to see how REAL Indian cuisine is presented and cooked. There were no peshwari nan offered on the menu.in Ocala there is definitely an opportunity for a top quality Indian restaurant.

“Delightful Indian Meal!!”
Reviewed April 10, 2013 via mobile

We enjoyed a delicious meal at Amrit Palace. The prices on the dinner menu were a little expensive but the food was very fresh, hot and delightfully spiced. The restaurant is very clean. The service was nice. We have eaten there several times at lunch and it is much more reasonably priced offering a full meal for only $7.95.

“Good Indian Food”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

The food is good and reasonably priced. Each time we have been here there are individuals who are Indian themselves. The take out business is brisk another good sign of quality and value.

“need to improve service”
Reviewed April 4, 2013 via mobile

Rationale: the quickest way to test good service is by how proactively the servers refill your drinks (soda/tea etc.). unfortunately during our last visit, the only drink that was proactively refilled was my service water. the food is great for its price, the venue is clean. ideal venue for group lunch or dinner.
