We went there for breakfast early on Sunday morning. This was our first visit to the Crossroads. When we pulled into the parking lot, I noticed three sheriffs cars parked there. When we went into the restaurant, they were all seated at at the same table. I jokingly said to my wife, "I feel so safe," and then added, "I guess they should know where to get a good breakfast."
Anyhow, we were early so it wasn't crowded and we sat at a nice table where I could see the kitchen. We were asked, immediately, if we wanted coffee, which we did. We pursued the extensive menu and both decided on the Stableboy Special: a large omelet with good stuff, including a topping of fresh made corned beef hash, mucho home fries (you have other choices of other sides), toast. Everything was hot and delicious!
The service was perfect, food came quickly, coffee topped off regularly, check right there. Service superb.
I couldn't help keeping an eye on the kitchen. It was a well oiled machine, and the staff all seemed to work together and respect one another other. I couldn't help noticing one waitress just start cleaning a prep station. This probably was part of her regular duties, and it really made an impression on me. It led me to think that the people who work here really give a dam. That seems to be a rare quality these days.
In summary, everything was wonderful, and we were both very full when we left. We will definitely return for breakfast and may try it for dinner. I can highly recommend The Crossroads for breakfast.
