Nice father daughter day at the Springs. We hiked and played in the water and just relaxed! She has downs syndrome so keeping her occupied is a must!

“a clean, spring-fed river”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2013

we launched a pontoon boat downriver and slowly rode up to the springs at Silver Springs Park. The water is so clear and cool--72 degrees year-round, so refreshing in the summertime. You see many alligators, turtles, fish, birds, otters, and frequently will see monkeys along the banks in the trees.

“It's Silver River, Not, Silver Springs River”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is a must for anyone coming to Ocala. Silver Springs Attractions will be closing I believe the end of this year as it has been purchased by Florida State Parks. At this point no one is saying if the Glass Bottom Boat ride will continue operating, but if it does not it will be a terribly sad day for many people. It is the most unique boat ride there is and just so beautiful to be able to see directly into a fresh water spring. Also, as you travel down the river, even in a private boat, there are so many natural things to see. The plant life, the animals, from turtles, birds, to alligators and so many more. It's Florida. In my opinion there are 2 things to see in Florida for nature lovers, the beaches and the Silver River. Plan to rent a boat, or do a guided boat tour. Try to spend the whole day. It's just amazing. From where you are able to put a boat in is about 7 miles from the actual Silver river springs. The beginning of the actual river. You could even canoe or kayak it. Amazing!

“Not for swimming!!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

The Park is beautiful and have a little interesting museum they also have like a little village to teach people how they used to live long time ago.... The have plenty of picnic areas and bathroom and the playground is nice but THE RIVER is NOT for swimming and I mean it.... ALLIGATORS live in the there.... Of course if you are going in a boat, canoe or kayac if fine lol....
Is also nice to ride bikes with the kids... And talking about SILVER RIVER STATE PARK that is one of the entrance for SILVER RIVER ;)
