DoubleTree in N. Reddington Beach is superb choice for beach getaway. Rooms nicely decorated, comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. Friendly, accommodating staff. Free and easy guest parking. White sand beach is wonderful, with waves gentle enough to be kid friendly and comfortable for an exhilerating swim. Nice pool bar, with multiple oceanview terraces with seating for drinks, dining, or just admiring the scenery - great spot to watch the sun set. We didn't try the restaurant, but other guests told us it was excellent. Location is excellent -- with wide variety of restaurants within a mile or so. Tip: if you can, take your own beach chairs and umbrella -- cost of rental $25.00/day for a double chaise with umbrella.

Room Tip: Confirm ocean view room.

We stayed here as part of a Southwest Airlines package vacation and were looking for a change of pace from our usual Delray Beach February vacation. At first we were underwhelmed by the charm of Gulf Blvd in N. Redington Beach (closely spaced high rises with public access to thye Gulf beaches down narrow side streets with extremely limited parking.
However the Doubletree Beach Resort was a joy to stay at because:
1.- The nicest ,most polite and friendly, and efficient hotel staff(every position) we've ever met, speaking as veteran world-wide travelers.

2.- Spotless, fresh rooms on the beach side with a screened in patio, a mini-fridge and superior coffee/tea service. The only thing missing was a micro-wave, but that's minor, given all the good points.

3.-Facilities- the hotel was on the beach and had a nice clean pool on the beach. Even the hotel's restaurant was on the beach with indoor and shaded outdoor seating and decent to good food especially for lunch. Additionally, we found three good restaurants and ywo major grocery chains within a five-ten minute draive. Also, the hotel has free parking for guests in a covered garage.

4.-N. Redington Beach turned out to be convenient for exploring the area from Sarasota to the south to Clearwater to the north and Tampa/St. Pete to the south and west.

5. Once we explored the beach area on foot we also discovered many more ways onto the beach.

I have stayed at several hotels in this area, and will definitely be back to this one. The rooms were well appointed, has a great location on the beach (go for the Gulf View room) and is centrally located to area attractions. Also, the staff here was extremely helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a place to relax and get away from the crowds, this is it!

Average at best. The only thing you pay for is a view of the ocean (if you're lucky to get that side of the hotel). The rooms were no different than a motel. The restaurant was ok. The Friday night buffet was good, but I only ordered it because everything on the menu was as expensive as it was. The 'Luau' that happened at sunset was a joke, but the families seemed to like it. Not much around the North Redington Beach area. A couple of good restaurants, but heard from locals that more 'things to do' were down the coast.

If you want to come witness the world's slowest elevator, stay at this hotel. There was only 7 stops but there was never a time when i got into the elevator within 3 minutes of pushing the button. The electronics in the elevator were screwy, leaving everyone in it to wonder what floor we were on. Several times we stopped at the 3rd floor when no one even pushed the 3 button. Even the staff was complaining!!!!

The beach in this area was very nice. It was right next to the jet ski/paddle boats/kayaks rental. Right across the street was a touristy beach shop where we got everything we didn't pack (towels, water sports equipment, etc). Close to a pier where fishermen were pulling out some decent sized fish. Heard rumors of a 100+ pound fish getting pulled out, but you know how fish stories go.

Room Tip: Probably could find a better deal down the coast

This hotel has a fantastic location right on a gorgeous beach. While the hotel is a little older, the rooms are comfortable and each has a little outside patio with chairs. I would recommend getting a room on the gulf side. We paid a little more for this and it was worth it for the scenery and the sounds of the waves! We ate breakfast at the hotel one morning and it was fine. Each room has a refrigerator, so we stopped on the way to the hotel and got some snacks and drinks to keep in the room. The staff was extremely friendly!

Room Tip: Get a room facing the gulf!

Bay front room w/king bed was very clean. Had mini-frig for use in room. Loved the view from our room(406). Asked to extend our visit one more day with them and was not a big deal, Mango restaurant in resort had good food and buffets that were priced right. Would stay here again and get bay view room! Very pleased with the resort and staff.
