We popped into Laurenzo's on the way to Key West from Orlando and I must admit - I am soooooo glad we did! It is a large Italian food market with a bakery and a little canteen style eaterie right inside. Having bought a whole box of cannoli and some cookies, we decided to grab a bite to eat before the long drive and I was more than pleasantly surprised. Food was fresh, tasty and plentiful, our server was absolutely lovely with that great Italian charm and a great sense of humour. As for the food - it was truly home made Italian! Please do not expect this place to be one of those pretentious fine dining experiences, it is not and thanks God for that! It is simple and unassuming, but the taste is truly delicious! As for cannoli - by far the BEST I have ever had!

Been going here for years, as they have always had a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Very clean and efficient.

Was not impressed as some foods were not fresh like the bread and desserts (cannoli had mold).

Hi TripAdvisor, I just discovered this negative review and would like to be able to contact the person to rectify their complaint. After 57 years we are proud and accustomed to positive happy customer testimonials. So I am very interested to ship / deliver breads and cannoli's to the reviewer to allow this person the opportunity to taste our products and hopefully re-write a positive review. IF products at the time of first review in poor condition means staff member on duty at that time was not following written quality control procedures. Product inspections occur thru-out the day / hours of operation for freshness,
quality, temperature and appearance.
Thank you for the opportunity to respond, and I hope I hear from our valued customer !
Sincerely, David Laurenzo

You need to realize this 'restaurant' is actually in one of the several sales buildings that make up 'Laurenzos Italian Food Specilaties". THere is another in Hollywood on the beach front (food market only).

We have had very good pizza here, when the dough maker is available. The back kitchen also prepares many other excellent dishes, and it both quick frozen for market sales, and places in trays and served in the food 'court'...which is very like a cafeteria. Very old looking, wood floors, not dirty, but could use a frreshening. (Actually, I think they want that look.

Excellent bakery. This "Italian" bakery is one of the few that still produce the eastern European bread called "Corn (ed) Rye, seeded. Ask for it on the sandwich that is made with corned beef or just provolne cheese. The breag is actually a sour dough rye & wheat corned with a sour dough (onion used to sour, then removed).

THe Italian Butter cookies are also excellent...(the Eggplant Parm and Chicken is super. The marinara sauce is good, the tomato sauce (gravy) must be cooked 12 hours...super.
