Having stopped at this hotel earlier in the year when I organised a big family get together this was the first place I thought of- centralish to us all and we had such a great time there before.
The welcome was as usual extremely warm and once we had a quick shower and change we met up to eat. We then waited for over an hour after our orders had been taken until we got brought free salads then our starters arrived and about 45 mins later our mains. Some of the food was burnt and inedible. We complained to the duty manager who investigated it and as so many meals were bad we were refunded. The waiting staff however were brilliant. I would still go back again cos I love the friendly staff but whether the rest of the family will want to is another matter!!

Room Tip: Front rooms during the week as a quarry behind but really quiet at the weekend

This hotel is good but if you are in room 35 there is a big kitchen extractor fan running all night, when I got into the room the smell of cooking fat was overpowering I closed the window to see the dirty yard area round the back. Ask for front view room.

Overall my stay here was positive. However my second day dinner in next door Beefeater restaurant could not have been worse. Had to wait for long time for every course. And finally had to wait for even longer to settle my bill.

We stayed here as it was near to a family function we were attending. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable and we had a good night's sleep.
The bed was particularly comfortqable with extra bedding and pilllows should you require them.
It was rather stuffy but if we opened the windows we would have had noise from the road and car park. However, the weather was unseasonably hot!
Breakfast was great. Delicious porridge and a huge cooked breakfast or buffet style. The staff were attentive and friendly.
This is on a fairly busy road but near to the hills if you need quiet!

Room Tip: Ask for one away from the car park.
