“Local touch - close to the beach”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

Within walking distance to the beach. Live entertainment and local flavour - a place where we have had lunch a couple of times. Food and service of average quality. Rather expensive.

“Fun atmosphere with live music”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

Had a great time listening to live music and having a couple of drinks. Coming from the north east it was nice to be outside and enjoy a warm night in December.

“Underwhelming while overpriced....”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

We at at the Key Lime Bistro twice this week. The first time, we were outside. The entertainment was great, and it was a beautiful evening. This helped with my impression of the restaurant. When I look back, though, for two children's meals, a pasta main, and an appetizer for the fourth main course, we spent over $140 (includes wine).

We returned a second time because there was a wait at the other restaurants; it was raining, so we opted for the no-wait option. This time, we ate inside at a booth. From here, we could see inside the kitchen as the wait staff went in and out...the kitchen generally looked grimy (food on the floor), the doors were visibly dirty from being kicked open by wait staff. The kids had pasta entrées from the kids' menu - $14 for penne and tomato sauce. The crab cakes tasted as though they'd been frozen. Both nights the "bread while you wait" was actually what appeared to be a processed, creamy, orange "scoop" of cheese with crackers and grapes...pretty unusual and not so yummy. The key lime pie was good, but why all the whipped cream and the mystery sauce it was sitting in? Overall, the highlight both nights was the entertainment.

This is an amazing location, but...I think they may be counting on the fact that there aren't enough restaurants to keep up with demand, so they get by with mediocre food at an inflated price. Overall, I'm feeling pretty silly for having returned a second time - I should have waited to eat elsewhere.

“Average restaurant”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

Dined here with family. Nothing special about the place - but nothing to complain about either - apart from price - which I considered a bit on the high side for the venue and food.

“Always a special experience”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

Once again we had the pleasure of dinning at the Keylime Bistro twice plus a third visit just to have cocktails.
As always, the staff makes you feel so welcome and appreciated and the food has always been top notch.
Andy, be he the host or manager has always made our visits a real special experience.
On one of the visits I had the shrimp over linguini and it was superb. We also had the key lime pie which is to die for.
Another favorite of mine is their burger which you can only get during the lunchtime serving hours. For my special chosen beverage, the "dirty girl scout" is the tops. Kind of pricy but it's worth a try if you like minty tasting ice cream type beverages.
Sitting outdoors is always a treat while listening to the entertainment.
On this trip to Captiva the power went out on 12/23/13 and almost everything was shut down with the exception of the Keylime as they have a generator. We visited there that night for some cocktails.
Great place, great people, great food. Yea, the food is kind of pricy but the experience is worth the price. After all you are probably on vacation in an expensive resort area.
