We stayed for a coupe of nights in Fort Myers Beach before a family Thanksgiving week rental on the beach in Bonita Springs. I had not been to this area of Florida in over 20 years when the kids were teens. So of course we wanted to venture back to Sanibel where we had stayed. Based on reviews here we chose to have a late lunch on Captiva at the Mucky Duck. What a trip this place is! It is a unique absolutely beautiful spot on the water. They had a decorated Christmas tree outside and some games that could be played by groups. It is just a great atmosphere. We waited not long for our picnic table. My husband ordered inside and we waited for them to call us that food was ready. My husband had a grilled fish sandwich he enjoyed and I had the fried oysters. My oysters were very pale almost not cooked enough but still good. We observed one Europen family with a couple of kids maybe 10 and 8. The kids ate then went to the beach and swam while their parents enjoyed cocktails. When the kids were done at the beach they all got ice cream...a nice family afternoon at Mucky Dusk's. We found prices to be a bit high but not if you take in the view and atmosphere. The food is good..not great. But if you come to Captiva, gawk at the gorgeous mansions and landscaping you must stop at Mucky and have that experience too.
