We went to Captiva July 22-24 to see the South Seas Island Resort - having done quite a research project on everything from golf, villas and food we did find that Doc Ford's was the place NOT to miss for good rum drinks and food - So we stopped there for lunch on the first day, went back for dinner - then lunch and late appetizer with a drink next day- and then stopped in for lunch before we left... they serve a full glass of wine for 1/2 the price you'd pay for the little bit you get at other places... They had a great selection of tap beer, we tried the Key West Ale which was really good... The small lettuce salad was quite large, and the Mahi added to it was 'out of this world prepared perfectly! The paella was awesome, Calamari appetizer was huge and delicious as was the fish fingers...The food was not only delicious and prepared fresh, but the quantity was very generous... This is a 'must' if you're heading out to the South Seas Resort. As you can tell, other than a scoop of ice cream at North Point Scoops, we ate all our meals there...
