Owner description: A private ECO-tour by boat with USCG Licensed Captain Brian Holaway departing from McCarthy's Marina on Captiva Island. Guests of Sanibel & Captiva Islands explore the natural surroundings by water with this specialized trip. You will have an opportunity to view birds, collect shells, see dolphins, take photos, relax, learn and explore islands only accessible by boat. I am a Certified Florida Master Naturalist and have been guiding for over 20 years to the islands surrounding Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Destinations may include North Captiva, Cayo Costa State Park, Cabbage Key, Useppa or Pine Island. I Hope to get you on the water soon!

My husband and I with another couple chartered a motor yacht in Fort Myers. We wanted to explore areas that our boat could not get into so I booked a charter with Captain Brian Holaway.
He brought us to some very interesting places and beaches. During our tour a thunderstorm
popped up. He took us into a safe place until the storm passed.

Thankfully, part of our tour was into South Seas Resort Marina channel because he knew that was one of the stops on our itinerary. He pointed out that it was a fairly new channel and that the old channel was very shallow. It just so happened that when we were entering the channel on our charter boat, we were caught in a bad thunderstorm and could not find the marks. Our chart plotter showed the old channel. Because of Capt. Brian's information we knew to wait out the storm until we could find the marks. As far as I'm concerned, he saved our vacation from a disastrous end. So even if you are on a large boat, it is still worth it to charter with Capt. Brian. He can take you places the big boats can't go and he can give you excellent navigational advice.

During our tour he also gave us restaurant and shopping information which turned out to be spot on!!

Our family has been going on charters with Captain Brian Holaway for ten years and our adventures exploring Pine Island Sound, the Gulf, Cayo Costa Island and many more places are always the highlight of our Sanibel Island vacations! I love to shell and walk on the beach, our adult daughter is into photography (especially birds, wildlife, clouds and sunsets) and we both love the Florida sunshine. My husband enjoys everything, too, especially shell hunting and tracking animals with Capt. Brian. We all love to eat and our trips almost always include a stop at the Tarpon Lodge for a delicious meal. While each trip is different depending on the weather and Mother Nature's generosity, there are always shells, isolated and beautiful beaches, great photo opportunities and great conversation. Captain Brian is very knowledgeable about the islands, marine life, plants, shells, the evironment and Florida's Calusa Indians. He is very passionate about what he does and is able to communicate that passion to people of all ages. As soon as we know when we will be coming to Sanibel, we contact Captain Brian to schedule a trip! We highly recommend a charter with Captain Brian!
