“beautiful and relaxing”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

Full of shells and the water was so warm! The beach offers a beautiful day for families. We had warm days that offered an abundance of sunshine. Didn't know the Gulf of Mexico would be so wonderful

“Great beach”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

This is a wonderful beach for swimming and shelling, the small parking lot is the only problem.
However, we found that if you stay and wait 10-15 minutes, someone is always leaving and you can find a spot. Only Portable Bathrooms, no concessions, though there is a Starbucks and shopping center just before you reach this beach.

“Week on Captiva”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

We were on Captiva during tropical storm Andrea. Other than one day we were able to spend a lot of time on the beach. Great sand with unbelievable shells.

“turquoise water”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

Remember your sunblock and $2 per hour for parking. We arrived in June (the slow season for Sanibel/Captiva) about 11 am. There were only 2 parking spaces left and about 8 cars trying to park! Parking is very limited at this beach. I would recommend arriving as early as possible to park. Iwas also surprised at the port-a-potties. No permanent restroom facilities, showers, foot wash like the many other public beach locations on the islands. Also no grilling allowed. All that being said it is a gorgeous beach, the sand is steep getting down to the water which may be problematic for some.
