This place is perfect old Florida hospitality and relaxation. Nice cabins nice dock. The manatees are always around and the herons will steal your bait if you are not looking. Great place. We buy tee shirts and fishing tackle at the nice store.

Last week 2 friends and I rented one of Jensen's Twin Palm Cottages (#10) at the Marina. The 2 bedroom cottage was equipped with everything we needed. It was nice to have two seperate bathrooms. The cottage had a full kitchen (refrigerator, oven/stove, microwave, coffee maker, pots/pans, plates, cups, glasses, utensils etc). There is a inside dining table as well as a screened porch with table and chairs. The cottages are air conditioned (especially appreciated in June Florida heat and humidity). The cottage was clean, nicely decorated and a welcoming place to rest after a day's activities. You can park right in front of the cottage - no lugging your stuff up stairs or from parking lots. We rented a pontoon from Jensen's (visitors renting cottages get a discounted rate for boat rentals). Information on how to operate the pontoon, where to go, see and do was very detailed by Jensen staff. You can buy fishing licenses from them as well as free use of fishing poles (you can buy the bait from them as well). They have a store that sells hats, shirts, postcards, and other souvenir items. You can also get ice from them. The Cottages and Marina are within walking distance to many Captiva restaurants on Andy Rosse Road (Mucky Duck, Bubble Room, Key Lime Bistro, Captiva Pizza and more). The sunrises at the marina were spectacular and you can walk about 3/10 of a mile across to the Gulf side to watch the sunsets. The sunsets are clearly the primary entertainment of the island. Pretty much everything closes up after the sun goes down. I cannot recommend this place enough -- staff was wonderful, informative and helpful, cottages were perfect and had everything we needed, boating was great on the pontoon (visit Cabbage Key for a cheeseburger in paradise). They had entertainment (two different groups) the Sunday night before we left. Manatees, pelicans and egrets hang out at the docks and we often saw dolphins in the harbor. If I could give them a million stars I would - its just that awesome. Truly a paradise and reminicinet of old Florida before resorts and mega mansions moved in.

Room Tip: You can google and search you tube videos of rooms and cottages.

For what it is, you get what you expect here. We had a two bedroom cottage. It's an old building but freshly painted and clean. Not luxury by any stretch. It's more of a fishing cabin type thing. The guys at the front desk / bait shop / marina were nice enough. We would stay again.

Love this homey, well-kept piece of old Florida! So chill, welcoming, and great for families. Two blocks to beach by Mucky Duck, and Jensens' will lend you beach towels, chairs, and an umbrella. Comfortable cottage and just what you need for relaxing.

Tip for packing/shopping before: while Jensens' provides basic dishes, dishwashing soap, and towels in the kitchen, if you want the following items, you'll need to bring/buy them (in addition to your food): salt & pepper or other spices, napkins, paper towels, disposable "tupperware" and/or plastic wrap, coffee machine filters. Otherwise the cottage will have what you need to cook, eat in and save money, if you want.

Fairly good wi-fi is also available, fyi.

I like Jensen’s. I stayed there because I thought it would be quiet and it delivered. My room was comfortable and spacious. Restaurants, bars and most importantly the beach are an easy walk. The room was clean and people friendly. There’s a screened in front porch. Parking is free and easy.
