“Great Experience Parasailing”
Review of YOLO Watersports

My husband and I decided to parasail while visiting Captiva Island. We signed up for a 10:00 flight through YOLO Watersports, which is located right in downtown Captiva.

We arrived fifteen minutes before our flight and filled out all of our paperwork in preparation for the trip. We were told to wait under a red umbrella on the beach and that the captain would wave to us when it was time to wade out to the boat.

We waiting about twenty minutes past our departure time for the boat. The captain apologized for our wait. The parasailing itself went off without a hitch and both the captain of the boat and the man assisting us with our lifejackets were helpful and friendly.

We purchased a photo package for $39 that included the take off, landing, and the "dip" in the water. We were given a micro sd card with all of our pictures on it at the end of the trip.

Overall, we had a great experience with YOLO Watersports and will definitely consider them again in the future.

My boyfriend and I based our island activities from YOLO watersports. We booked a morning parasail and were the first customers out in the boat on Saturday. Because of this, we were able to get onboard their boat at the marina and sail around the island to the beach. We both loved the fifteen minute trip taking in the sights. Once out at the beach, we were prepped for parasailing. The crew was very attentive & professional. Despite some rocky seas, we were launched into the air off the boat slowly and easily- just like our landing. The experience in the air over the island was SO relaxing. And after asking them to give us a good dunk, the captain submerged us into the water a few times, splashing us against the waves. Very fun!! We opted out of the picture package and the crew took a good amount of pictures with our camera instead- I was very pleased with that! The next day we rented beach cruisers. The prices are very reasonable and the bikes are in great condition! Overall, YOLO is a great place to go for all your island excursions & activities. When you finish, keep your car parked at YOLO & visit the beach at the end of the road. The parking spot alone is worth it!!

While in Floridia booked a waverunner excursion with Yolo. Definitely worth the investment. My son and I shared a waverunner and he drove. My son is 16 and had taken the test for a temporary boating permit earlier n the week. We took another wave runner excursion earlier in our trip. I booked this one because it was 2 hours in length and it took us to North Captiva Island and Costa Cayo. This excursion gave us time to speed on the open ocean waters and also nose around some of the bay areas . We encountered many dolphins and a sea turtle (rare!). Our guide Brandon provided some fun facts about the area and was laid back and accommodating. Really beautiful!

This place is a great spot for rentals. They have parasailing, paddle boarding, and waverunners. They only got a very good review from us for two reasons--one, the beach is not ideal for young renters, and they have minimal parking.

Staff were friendly, and rates seemed pretty reasonable; the shop is close to lots of restaurants and attractions on Captiva, so it's worth a drive from Sanibel. The paddle boards are their own product and kind of a hollow plastic kind related to the sit-on-top kayaks, good for beginners.

They did not offer any instruction on paddle boarding. They get four stars from us because the beach was not as good for younger kids--we took a six-year old, eight-year old, and ten-year old, and the surf was very tricky to navigate just because of how the beach was structured. If you have young kids, and they want to try paddleboarding, I would go for an area that has calmer water.

They had a blast on the waverunner, though, and overall the shop is nice and a lot of fun.

Lastly, there is minimal parking; there are three spots in front and otherwise you have to shoehorn yourself into the back lot. They do help move cars and the situation at Yolo is certainly not unique on Captiva--if you're going, you're welcome to park in back if renting.

Overall, if you're aware of these small drawbacks, you should have a great time with their rentals. We did not try parasailing, but it looked fun (if expensive).

This tiny store has water stuff available for just about every desire. Plus, of course, tons of logo souvenirs. We did a parasail on one day -- 4 of us; 2 tandem rides, on the Gulf. 10+ minutes in the air. The captain and helper were lovely and, you know, helpful, and took the safety of passengers seriously. I loved the parasail so much, I went back the next day (a triple sail), this time on the bay (location depends on weather and sea conditions). Still wonderful, even for the one of us who was pretty scared. About $70 per person, which seemed quite reasonable to me. Would definitely go back and sail, sail away.
