“Tons of fun but better for older kids”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

This place is a great spot for rentals. They have parasailing, paddle boarding, and waverunners. They only got a very good review from us for two reasons--one, the beach is not ideal for young renters, and they have minimal parking.

Staff were friendly, and rates seemed pretty reasonable; the shop is close to lots of restaurants and attractions on Captiva, so it's worth a drive from Sanibel. The paddle boards are their own product and kind of a hollow plastic kind related to the sit-on-top kayaks, good for beginners.

They did not offer any instruction on paddle boarding. They get four stars from us because the beach was not as good for younger kids--we took a six-year old, eight-year old, and ten-year old, and the surf was very tricky to navigate just because of how the beach was structured. If you have young kids, and they want to try paddleboarding, I would go for an area that has calmer water.

They had a blast on the waverunner, though, and overall the shop is nice and a lot of fun.

Lastly, there is minimal parking; there are three spots in front and otherwise you have to shoehorn yourself into the back lot. They do help move cars and the situation at Yolo is certainly not unique on Captiva--if you're going, you're welcome to park in back if renting.

Overall, if you're aware of these small drawbacks, you should have a great time with their rentals. We did not try parasailing, but it looked fun (if expensive).

“Love these guys”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

This tiny store has water stuff available for just about every desire. Plus, of course, tons of logo souvenirs. We did a parasail on one day -- 4 of us; 2 tandem rides, on the Gulf. 10+ minutes in the air. The captain and helper were lovely and, you know, helpful, and took the safety of passengers seriously. I loved the parasail so much, I went back the next day (a triple sail), this time on the bay (location depends on weather and sea conditions). Still wonderful, even for the one of us who was pretty scared. About $70 per person, which seemed quite reasonable to me. Would definitely go back and sail, sail away.

“Wonderful parasailing experience for all ages”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

We went parasailing with these guys today. The staff were immediately attentive and friendly without being fake or patronizing. Some of our party were apprehensive and they were reassuring and appropriately casual. The experience itself was magnificent and if we are ever down this way again, we will look them up and schedule a return adventure. Photographs taken by the crew were excellent and document our trip for good memories. Thanks, guys!

“Bike rental on the island”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

Rented two bikes midweek of our stay here on the island. Not bad bike. They are pretty average. Love the baskets to grocery shop and get around the island without driving the car. They were fast and nice little gift shop on the premises. Only downside is the horrible hours. 5 o'clock way to early to close.

“Okay”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

We rented bikes from Yolo for the day and have no real complaints. We got there early and there was no line. The person taking care of us was had a good sense of humor and was personable, and the guy who brought us our bikes was freindly as well. The bikes could of been in better shape, The shifters didn't work all that well. I thought the cost was reasonable, about $15 each for the whole day.
All in all our experience was okay.
