“Hidden gem reopens as a Japanese buffet with incredible food......”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2014

For many years this was a Chinese buffet somewhat run down and tired and closed sometime last year, passing by I noticed lot of reconstruction and finally a new name Sakura Japanese Buffet and so decided to try them out over last weekend. To my surprise the entire interior has been remodelled in three distinct sections one with booths, one with tables and a secluded almost private dining area.
The decor is bright, modern and fresh, the layout vastly improved with distinct area for Sushi and Sahimi,a separate Grill area for made to order dishes,a side with hot plates mixing both Japanese and Chinese favourites to include a variety of fresh fish, oysters, clams, salads fruits and pastries.
Wines are available by the bottle a selection of beers and hot sake as well.the service was friendly, fast and efficient with charming hostesses and value for money it is unbeatable,I wish them great success and highly recommend a visit whether alone with a loved one or the family,a must to visit.......................

“Be careful at parking lot”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2014

The food is ok with a good price but CAUTION, we parked to have a lunch at Sunday 2pm and somebody broken our car window and stolen our bag. We told to the Chinese owner of Sakura, he didn't want to know what happened.
So, be advised.

“-Nice ambiance,food not so marvelous...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014

This is another all u can eat japanese/chinese buffet, this one located in scenic North Bay Village just off JFK causeway, got a nice private parking, easy access and a very nice decor inside, very modern, the food is not bad but somewhat disapointing, for dinner is plenty of sashimi, snow crab and shrimp, but considering that actually this market is very competitive and cutthroat,i'll give it a nice 6,a cut above average,it was like 20 bucks a pop so can't complain much,i may return there though, but only if i run out of other options

“Overpriced”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013

We ate here on Saturday night - the place looks nice and stylish inside, but the food was of poor quality and very limited on choice, sushi - lots of it was unlabelled so I didn't touch those dishes, prawns had not been de-veined, so I didn't eat them, some of it looked old like it had been thee for a Wylie. Not very fresh. The hot buffet wasn't much better - re-heated and dried looking salmon, rice was not nice and the chicken was chewy. The wonton soup however was very nice. Deserts - tinned fruit, cheap cake and angel delight. In my opinion very overpriced at 19 dollar per head before drinks and tax. The restaurant was freezing and empty and the waitress was so busy texting on her online we could have left without paying Nd she probably wouldn't have noticed! Take my advice - give this one a miss
