Suntan Terrace, like most of the hotels on Casey Key, is on both sides of the narrow road. One side faces the Gulf and the other faces the Gulf Intracoastal. The hotel was almost full of people staying a month or more and many had returned there year after year. We had just a room, not an apartment, but it is all that was available. The "buzz" among long time visitors is that it is going downhill a bit. Furniture is getting worn and it is not geting well vacuumed. But everyone comes anyway because of its location and ambiance. There is a Tiki bar, bring your own drinks, in the middle of the courtyard on the beach side and people gather to talk, and everyone gathers, with their glass of wine, to watch the sunset from the terrace. There are a couple restaurants in walking distance. The bed in our room was a little uncomfortable but we would come back anyway because we liked the place despite its drawbacks. There are some beach chairs to use, but if you have room in your car, I'd suggest bringing your own to make sure you have one. It has a good wireless internet signal. There is a pool, but it is not heated any more, so I hear. I didn't see anyone in it.
