“A HIDDEN JEWEL!”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

We have been to Briandi's twice now and loved the food and the friendliness. If you are looking for native atmosphere this is it...if you are looking for upscale not your place. This surpassed our expectations and will now bring friends to experience this with us! We loved the ten tables only!
Overjoyed in Osprey that you are so close!

“This is not Italian”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

I am Italian, and this is not good Italian food. The house wine tasted like a soft drink. We asked for to-go boxes. All restaurants box your leftovers at your table. Not this place. I know that I had the same amount left over as my husband. The next day when we opened our boxes, he had twice the amount I had. Hmmmm.....wonder where the food went? And it was no better the next day. Won't be back.

“A Hidden Gem!”
Reviewed July 16, 2012

What a pleasant surprise this place was. Very unassuming from the exterior, and minimal to no atmosphere, but the food was outstanding. In particular, their eggplant parmesan was so incredible. Huge portion, fresh baked bread delivered hot to the table. You never get a bad meal at Briandi's and it has become a favorite. Pricing is good.

“It doesn't look like much but the food is great!”
Reviewed June 28, 2012

Recently stumbled into Briandi's in Nokomis on Tamiami Trail, just north of Venice. Friends had said it was terrific and they were correct. Huge portions of both pasta and fresh fish entrees, along with fresh baked bread delivered warm to your table. Great happy hour. The inside is tiny - about 10 tables and the walls are filled with various stars who have stopped by over the years. It's certainly well worth checking it out for yourself.

“Not For Me!”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

I don't like writing a negative review, but this meal was terrible . The Caesar dressing tasted like vinegar. The meat sauce on my lasagna was bitter; maybe too much parsley. The fried calamari was over-cooked. This was a $44 meal for two; which would be fine if it was delicious. Now the good part. The servings were huge. The homemade sausage, meatball, and bread were excellent. The waitress was friendly and efficient. The old pictures (some of them autographed!) were fascinating and the restaurant was clean. My partner is from Brooklyn, so we know good Italian food. Sad to say, but this meal wasn't even mediocre.
