Ambience and service was great. Food was mediocre at best. Seafood didn't taste fresh. Husband said ribs were very good.

“Very good atmosphere - good service - and good food!”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

Came here with some friends and LOVED it - and i didn't know what to expect. It isn't fancy by any means - but it's always good to change things up! Service was excellent and our seats were perfect - outside, right on the water! Food was really good - here's a tip - get the edamame salad, SO good! I really like edamame and Pop's has the BEST anywhere - and i've tried it in places all around the country! I got a sandwich which was really good. I have nothing negative to say about this place and i WILL be back again!

“Kind of grows on you!”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

We go to Siesta Key twice a year and stop at Pop's each time. The location and view on the water is great and they're fixing up the outdoor areas..now if they'd do something with the building itself!!
On the May 2012 visit, the waitress warned the wife too late not to feed the birds. She had already given some fish away and now it looked like it would snatch every piece on her plate(see picture).
In November 2012, we found that they have all you can eat fish dinners on Friday. Since the wife likes their fish, that's when we went. No "aggressive panhandlers" this time! I heard the phrase "old Florida" mentioned in connection with this place. I'd say it has "character" and maybe at night even characters! The food is decent as are the prices. It would be a shame if there wasn't any "old Florida" still around!

“Fabulous dockside bar and grill!”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

We spent the morning at Nokomis Beach with our three daughters. We were sandy, so we were looking for VERY casual but good food.

The place was super cute. Beachy grill, but not divey. Very clean.

We asked for outdoor seating, and the hostess said there would be a wait. We saw that there were open tables, and she told us that the server's station was busy and that it may take a few minutes to be served. We hardly waited. I think a server from a different station took care of us. He was friendly and helpful.

The girls ordered kids meals....my four year old's cheeseburger would have filled me up! I ordered the blackened burger with jalapeños and pepper jack cheese. Best burger I've had in ages! Soft, fresh bun, tomatoes that taste like tomatoes, and a perfectly seasoned, juicy, gigantic burger! Fries were just fine, I would probably order the good looking edamame salad I saw at the table next to mine.

“Great food AND Manatees”
Reviewed January 3, 2013 via mobile

Excellent fried shrimp and scallops for lunch. Good view eating on the dock. Staff took a great deal of pleasure showing us 2 manatees cruising along the dock. We are sure to go back
