That pretty much says it all. The food here is relatively inexpensive and of average quality at best, not bad and better than some other restaurants in the area, but not really special. The place is always packed and the service can be very slow as a result. If there is a large group in one of their private rooms, you could be waiting at the table a long time for your meal. Its a small kitchen. Another reviewer mentioned seeing the hostess eating from plates before they were served and I don't know if this was the same person but we saw a female employee, not dressed as waitstaff, who stood just outside the kitchen area and seemed to be in charge somehow. We witnessed her sprinkling freshly grated parmesan cheese onto dishes leaving the kitchen with her bare hand and she was not wearing food handler gloves as the kitchen staff were. We were shocked enough to watch her and noticed she then touched items that were decidedly unsanitary. I doubt we'll go back. That was highly troubling in the middle of a flu epidemic.

We visited the Ophelia's Pasta House about 1400 (2pm) on 01/03/2013. There were only a few customers but the waitress's were very nice and enjoyable. We were served right away with a smile. Several people came by our table and asked if we were taking care of. We ordered our drinks and were served quickly. Then we ordered our meals and they were served soon also with a smile. The meat loaf was a little to juice for me, but that could just be me and it could have some more spices in it, but again that is just me for I am from the deep south and love spicy foods. All and all the meal was good. They also had a place to dine one can take there dog and eat while the dog is at your table. We eat inside where no animals were. The place was very clean and friendly with good food. We will stop by when we are in the area.

During our recent vacation in the Venice area, we had the pleasure of eating at Ophelias
Pasta House in Nokomis. The pasta was out of this world, and the service second to none. So
good, that we went there twice during our 12 day stay. With any luck, Juliet will be your server.
She is a valuable asset, and I hope she is still there on our next visit. Ophelias is located in the
Nokomis Village Plaza at the intersection of Tamiami Trail (US41) and Laurel Road.

On our way to North Port, and stopped at Ophelia's Pasta House for breakfast. Read previous reviews, which all said it was good and cheap..............hits the nail on the head. Nothing special, but certainly a good value for the money. Good, not great.
Eggs were done to order, service was prompt............although we did have to flag down another waitress in order to get our bill.

Were there fairly early on a Sunday morning, and it was crowded. The area has a good deal of senior citizens, and most of them seemed to be there that day.
We were seated in the back.............next time, we will opt for the sunny covered porch out front.
Overall good................just not anything special.
