Turkey Creek is the place to go if you want a nice relaxing walk while you enjoy nature. There is a nice wide wooden walkway that goes along the Turkey Creek. Enjoy seeing turtles sunning themselves on logs, beautiful birds, squirrels jumping trees, etc. You can take a break and sit on the benches along the way. There are swimming spots and frequently you will see canoes and kayaks going down the stream. A great place to visit!

A lot of teenagers hang out at this place and get cooled off floating down the river. Whether you have tubes, floaties or jus swimming.
There is a chance to see a snake or two, but, in the many times we have been there, we have seen none.
The water is a cool 60ish to 70ish temperature. I've seen Canoes there also. It is a full 3 mile walk and so great for those who don't want to get in the cool water but want to walk for exercise. You can bring wheelchairs, although, a bit bumpy for those sitting in those chairs but they may enjoy the laughter of the kids, and the scenery of Turkey Creek.
I do not believe they have lockers for your belongings, and this I wish they did. Like the waterparks have, even those where you can use money and carry a key would work, this is something they need to work on. Many a times, my phone has been dropped by accident in the creek... but that's the only negative thing I can think of that they really need to work on.

This is a great boardwalk through the thicket along the banks of Turkey Creek. The City of Niceville has done a great job building and maintaining this boardwalk. The sides of the main boardwalk areas are fenced in so it is safe for children. There are several areas where there are places to get in the creek and swim or float. The swimming areas are nice and wide with easy access steps back onto the dock. Turkey Creek is also a great place to canoe or kayak. If you have a full day to spend on the creek, you can go to the ranger station about a mile away and watch a short video and get a permit to canoe or kayak. The permits cost one dollar for the day or twelve dollars for the year. The best place to have someone drop you off for kayaking is a small clay road just North of Niceville off Hwy 85 heading towards Crestview. The ladies at the ranger station can show you the place on the map. From this point it is a wonderful 21/2 - 31/2 hour kayak trip back down to the mouth of the creek where it meets Boggy Bayou. The creek is beautiful.

Best park in Niceville. Go for a walk by yourself and feel safe or go with family and friends. Swimming in the creek, kids love it. Feels like "old Florida" where I grew up. Great place for a group picnic. Lovely pavalion. Always clean and well maintained.

Turkey Creek is a great place to take an early morning walk and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature... there is also a place for swimming in the crystal clear cool water on a hot summer day
