Riverview was a great local choice near the beach and close to shops and restaurants. We stayed in an economy room-which was lovely! The bed was comfy, bathroom was very clean-room had a nice little balcony. The hotel provided a pack and play free of charge-not a service one can expect from a chain! The staff was so nice and thoughtful-and provided great local care!

Our love of Riverview is for the boat slip, so few options in the area to stay and dock overnight. Love the hotel, the rooms and the staff, our bed was particularly comfortable. Choose a room facing the pool for less noise/activity though I did not mind watching the boats go by and the people shuffling around the restaurant especially since we ended up at the restaurant late anyway. Definitely get out on the available bikes. Only wish there was a bit more to the breakfast selection, an omelet would be awesome!

The beds are beyond amazing. The staff is as well, but the noise outside is a little too much for my liking when trying to sleep. While at The Riverview our cable wasnt working. So we were bored at night. But other than that it is a great place to stay.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to leave these comments. We appreciate the kind words regarding our excellent staff and comfortable new beds. We are very sorry about the cable being out. Our service provider had a outage in the area that affected everyone in the vicinity. I can assure you that this was a extremely rare event and upon your next stay the cable will be working. As for the noise, I am very sorry to hear you had a bad experience. We are currently in the process of renovating all our rooms, and that includes insulation. This will help with outside noise issues. Upon your next stay, this should not be a problem. We take our comments very seriously, and that is why we are doing these types of renovations. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you again. - William Heller

We stayed at the Riverview 3/24/13 through 3/26/13. When we booked our room we were told we had a view of the river. When they showed us our room our view was of the Riverview Grille restaurant and of people looking back at us! Also at night the people walking into the restaurant were very loud. We also never received our complimentary breakfast but they do have self serve coffee.
If we go again, we woold highly recommend upstairs overlooking the pool. You have much more privacy up there. Also recommend going to the Riverview Grille for the 4:30-6:00 Sunset menu. Comes with a free drink and salad and the prime rib is just delicious.
The staff was very kind and helpful. The gift shop is adorable. Would recommend this place but not the river "view' rooms with no privacy or quiet. Just wished we had been upstairs over pool but they were full.
We will go again soon as we only live 60 miles away. Hope this review helped.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for leaving this helpful comment. While I can understand your feelings regarding the privacy concern of staying on the first floor facing riverside, many people also find this room to be a very nice location. I suppose it all matters what kind of experience you are trying to have. Many people enjoy sitting on the porch watching the people walk by. We also provide your room with black out drapes for when you don't want to see those people. And as you said that you would recommend the second floor, as I agree, that if you are looking for a little more privacy that this would be a choice better suited for you. We have all kinds of rooms for each persons taste.

As for the breakfast issue, I am very sorry that this happened. I personally investigated this, and can not figure out how all of our employees could have bypassed your room for multiple days. This has never happened in my time working here. The breakfast menu we provided for you was to be filled out and placed on the out side of your door. That being said, the only thing I can imagine that happened, was that your menu was never placed on the outside door nob. Regardless I always stress to our guest, that if there is anything they need to always let us know, and we will handle it immediately. I promise upon your next stay that this will not be a issue. We look forward to seeing you upon your next stay. -William Heller

After reading and hearing about the Riverview Hotel, we decided to stay there for St. Patrick's Day weekend. On arrival we were charmed by the wide surround porch with white wicker rockers, the cozy lobby, and the friendly welcome of the staff. This was clearly not your stereotypical, cookie-cutter chain hotel. Our room had been freshly renovated. It contained the latest amenities: large flat screen TV on the wall, pillow top mattress, fine L'Occitane soap and bath accessories. We particularly appreciated the dimmer switch and individual bedside reading lamps since one of us decided to read for a while in bed while the other slept.
The next morning our breakfast arrived at the exact time requested. We took the breakfast tray to our room's private patio (facing the pool) and ate outside wearing the robes provided. At the end of the day, delicious chocolate mints were placed on our beds.
We rested beautifully and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. They cheerfully answered all our questions and told us of the nearby, easy- to- walk- to pubs, restaurants and unique shops. We easily walked to the beach itself.
We look forward to frequent visits to this soothing hotel located in a fun town.

It was only because of Trip Advisor that we were able to discover & book the Honeymoon Suite room #318 during the Bike Week /Spring Break / St. Patricks festivities on Flagler Ave. We booked a 6 day stay.
This is the reason we love using the Trip Advisor App. Being able to find such gems.

Loved the quaint Victorian style, very comfortable bedding that had us snoozing much later than normal, cool balcony, lovely delivered breakfasts, exceptionally nice friendly staff & a cool ill gift shop.
Where it does not live up to the State Hotel in Durango Colorado, for the price & location it is an excellent choice for those who appreciate this style establishment.

You won't find a massive flat screen TV, jacuzzi tub in room or marble tile, plush carpeting.

What you will find is a cool Victorian circa 1900 style room, nice balcony & a quiet enjoyable stay with an excellent attached restaurant right on Flagler Ave which has numerous amenities & cool places to visit.
The staff does not act like a professional hotel staff - way too nice, friendly & accommodating.

We've stayed here several times now when we travel to visit relatives. We always stay in room 303 right by the pool. They've been renovating the rooms and my only complaint is that they've trimmed the vegetation back so much that the private patios aren't nearly as private anymore but they assured me that it would grow back. The bathrooms have been renovated to a higher standard but the tub in ours seems to be unstable as in there is a rubber bottom which is fine if you're sittting in the tub but standing is a bit unstable. Also I was nearly scalded in the shower one morning - not sure why the water temp. changed so suddenly. The breakfasts, served to your patio, used to be a little better I think. I seem to recall that you could get yogurt and granola which is no longer an option. Not sure why hard boiled eggs, yogurt, granola and tomato juice or V8 could not be included. Not to mention that fresh seasonal fruit seems to be in order (besides bananas - canned fruit just doesn't cut it in FL). Really enjoyed the warm chocolate cookies and they also have apples and coffee in the lobby and chocolates and terry robes at turndown. With just a few tweaks this place could be truly wonderful.
