“Long and winding road”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

I'd suggest visiting the Dunes park in the morning or the late afternoon. It's a walkway throughout but not a great deal of shade. You can see the ICW and ocean much of the walk. Dog friendly beach.

“Nice walking area”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

This is a circular boarded walk through the dunes at north New Smyrna beach.
It overlooks the lighthouse on the opposite side of the channel. There are lovely little beaches hidden away on the bay side and toilet facilities at the car park where you start/finish.
Only about 1 1/2 miles long.

“Nice walking area just off the beach”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

Nice walk on a 1.5 mile boardwalk around a low dune area with many beach access points. No shade so do early or late in the day, and not on a hot day. $5 fee is a good value.

“Great Park for dogs and people”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

The people and dogs all have a blast. if you want to not be with the dogs, still a great place for people. The boardwalk is such a pleasant walk to see what wildlife might be seen. Great Place!
So relaxing.

“Great Place to Visit”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

6-8 foot wide slightly raised boardwalk through the dunes with rest stations inbetween - Thank goodness! It was VERY hot with the bright sun reflecting off the sand; bring water, we did. My sister and brother-in-law are hikers and wanted to go, they are in better shape than me - I've had a few knee surgeries and it was tough going. The walk is fun, the rest areas are covered and have picnic tables, trash bins, BBQs and stairs down to the sandy dunes. There are other stairs down here or there where you can access the river side and there are boardwalks and stairs that go over the dunes to the beach. there is even a little tower you can climb the stairs up to take in a view of the whole area (river, inlet and ocean). We walked the riverside to the oceanside and the last little bit we saw land tortoises, just before the walk entered into the "woodsy" section.
Anyone looking for a hike - GO! Bring water and wear walking shoes.
