What a great restaurant, but it really should be at the shoreline given the decor and atmosphere of the place. They only serve beer and wine concoctions, no hard liquor. The food is fresh and very tasty and we were a party of 12 when we went and had very good service.

The restaurant is at the base of the bridge and traffic backs up often in front of the restaurant. The food is average and a bit on the pricy side.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and review our restaurant. We take great pride in the food we serve our customers. Our burgers are 1/2# black angus beef served with hand cut fries for 10. Our Fish Tacos are served with fresh cut green pico, red cabbage, house made cilantro lime aioli, pickled onions and blackened mahi with a side of saffron rice 10. Our entrees include Chicken Roulade 15, Polynesian Mahi 16, "my favorite" 12 oz Bone in Pork Chop 18, Seafood Jambalaya 20 and a New York strip 22. All of our entrees include a side of veg and house made soup or salad. Everything is made in house using the freshest vegetables and seasonings. Our fries are hand cut daily and all our dressings, aioli's and sauces are made in house. We have bridge beer specials Bud light or Yeungling 16 oz drafts for .25.
Happy hour is Tuesday thru Sunday 4 to 7 with $1.50 16 oz drafts and $4 house wine. Monday is ladies night at the bar 1/2 off food and drinks. The restaurant has an attractive location right by the bridge with a Cabana looking outdoor area. It looks fun and draws customers. However, the service is poor. My order was taken but the food arriving didn't match my order and the waitress then told me the cook had left and could not prepare the food as ordered. Huh?

I am very concerned about your review and would like to know who your server was or the approximate time and date you visited us. I as the owner and one of the chefs can assure you that the head chef and or myself do not leave for at least an hour after closing and arrive an hour before opening. I apologize for the servers obvious mistake and would like to correct this!! Please contact me via email if you would like to keep your response private or on this site. I really appreciate the feed back and will correct this issue. Email to marlers@bellsouth.net.
Thank you!!

We visited Gnarly Surf Bar and Grille on a Monday afternoon in April and ate outside; we noticed the tables had an unfortunate sticky residue on the surface. We weren't greeted with enthusiasm, but the service was decent. The fish taco was good and came with a nice sauce, a tad dry, but fine. The fries on the side, the best part of the meal, were hot and crispy. The "Cuban" sandwich was flavorful, but held less meat than expected. The black bean side was exactly that, no added flavor or seasoning, simply black beans, probably from a can. Overall, the meal was okay.

went here for dinner husband got the jambyla, I got the lamb tacos - both were wonderful. Service was very good. VERY small place. We were checking it out because later this month someone we want to see is playing there. Would certainly go for food and drink again. Dog Friendly and people friendly.
