“taste of overlooked history”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

Native American history gets ignored by most in our Eurocentric society, so a fair and balanced presentation is both appreciated and welcome, find both at this site which is also a nice nature walk

“A Very Pleasant, Low-Key Attraction”
Reviewed April 3, 2014

I think there are two features I enjoyed the most about Turtle Mound. One is the unspoiled natural beauty of the place, particularly in contrast to much of "developed" Florida. The other is the notion of the prehistoric natives piling millions of oyster shells here and the resulting observation point on the coast. The boardwalk is in excellent shape and there is a very nice platform to sit, rest, and gaze at the view!

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed March 18, 2014

A new visitors center greets visitors with a great preview of the National Seashore Park. We visited on a cool and windy day, but quickly found ourselves enthralled in the natural beauty of the park, from the Turtle Mound to Eldora House to the seven mile ride. So much to see, easily 1/2 day experience. If you are in New Smyrna Beach don't miss it!

It is wide open, us disturbed, wonderful walk ways, and peaceful beautiful beaches. Just a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of civilization . Good visitors center too. Clean bathrooms. Very peaceful and natural.
