My favorite local (eat in) Chinese Restaurant closes off-season. New Shanghai mailed us a menu, specifying that they deliver, and we decided to try them..
They told us to expect delivery in 45 minutes, and our food arrived within 20. The Hot and Sour Soup is deliciously spicy and loaded with tofu, pork and all that other unidentifiable stuff. I prefer it a bit sourer, but it was very good nonetheless. The Wonton Soup is loaded with stuffed wontons, the chicken broth a rich, golden color. The egg rolls are sized more like a very large spring roll, but are crispy and flaky and loaded with cabbage and pork.
I enjoyed the General Tso’s Chicken, although it could have been spicier. The Orange Chicken was also excellent. In both cases the chicken was battered and fried just right. The Pork Fried Rice was loaded with pork and egg.
New Shanghai offers Dinner Combinations, including entrée, egg roll, and pork fried rice for under $7. Their lunch specials are $4.50. Overall, we enjoyed a very good meal, with enough left over for another, and the bill was under $19 delivered.
