Hard to find but worth the need for a U turn on 41 if coming from Naples. Quiet, excellent service, really nice and great food at a price. If you want brown paper and cheap seafood do not come here. If you want something special this is it!

“Bay House Overpriced/Boring - For Old People”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2010

I have been to the Bay House before, and it was nice; this time around there is a new owner; who had the manners of cheetah - had to sit in the bar, the views are spectacular - at the beginning the waitter was attentive and the appetizer was nice; but the entree was terrible,, and very, very overpriced, the fish we ordered was suppossed to be pan seared; it was white, bland with some sauce drenched over it; the risotto was just odd; the mashed potatoes were good - the waitter disappeared after the appetizers and came back approximately 20 minutes later to take our order - just way too expensive - I can see why their food is bland is for all the old people that frequent the place, can't give them any spices that may upset their tummys - overall it was a depressing dining experience. The people that frequent the place are snooty, with no class - who think they are above you .

“Graciousness and Good Food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2010

I was going to rate this 4-stars because the food, while good, didn't blow us away; however, the hospitality was 5-star or more and the venue was great.

Beginning with the up-beat valet service, we knew we were going to have a good time. They were also very efficient.

Arriving almost an hour early because we ended our day at the Ace Group Classic early, we were hoping for a window table; but, were instead directed to the bar (ended up with a rather poor window seat; but since the sunset was non-existent, it didn't matter).

Our waitress in the Tavern section was really sweet and quick with our order...the short-rib sliders (3) with fries were very good and at $13 (I think) a pretty good deal.

When we were seated, we met our waiter, Mihai (Michael) from Romania, who assisted us with the uncorking of our wine and provided menu advise...as well as the most wonderful little muffins to munch on!! He was so happy and friendly...mgmt should be thankful they have him...he also mentioned that he also works at their other restaurant, Turtle Club (which I had read very good reviews about and had on my "hit list" of restaurants to try...next time, for sure, thanks to Miahi!).

We also met and liked Ed Wagner, the GM. He's very knowledgable about their very good wine list! We had brought an '01 Pinot from OR. and had an excellent conversation with him about Oregon wines. Corkage is free for the 1st bottle you bring (if it's not on their wine list...which is available for viewing on-line) and $25 for the 2nd...very reasonable, and fair.

F. had a pork belly and bean app. that was good (& even better leftovers the next day) & a seafood trio (the grilled scallop was amazing!). I had shrimp and grits (which I have had other places and make myself at home) and it was good (better the next day).

The lighting and layout of the restaurant is wonderful and seems "old FL"...and, the Tavern is what midwesterners would call a "roadhouse"...note: it's packed (even on a Thurs. nite) by 5:30pm! They have a 2-person band, which seems kind of unnecessary...it's sort of loud in the bar area; but, not so much in the restaurant.

We looks forward to bringing friends from FL's other coast over here for dinner!!

“Not sure how the TA's ratings work?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2010

Decent restaurant. However, there are many places in Naples that deserve a higher rating than the Bay House. I am a local and a food snob. The Bay House does have unique atmosphere.

“So glad I tried this restaurant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2010

We have had a place in Naples for about ten years but had never heard of The Bay House until I saw the reviews on TripAdvisor. We tried it last weekend with another couple and just loved it! Each of us ordered something different and each of us wanted to lick our plates. My snapper was outstanding. We will definitely go there again. It's quite far north within Naples but easy to find and close to Tamiami Trail - yet you feel like you are out in the woods.
