Have you ever had a perfect meal. If you have, it was likely at the Bay House in Naples. For starters, try the warm lobster salad. For mains, try one of their many signature dishes. Lobster pot pie is outstanding, Or try the unique surf and turf. Its braised ribs and jumbo shrimps. Or try the very unique seafood sausage (yes really). There are several other delicious items we also tried. Sharing was the order of the day. If you still have a desire for something else, try the deserts. Amazing!!! Try the individual baked Alaska. The serving staff are excellent (Helen et all). The manager, John, knows how to please people. A perfect evening for all seven of us.

We went on the advice of friends. Its off the beaten path but cozy and private. It was much bigger than I expected. We sat in the tavern and enjoyed apps. The band was great and service excellent.

We're from New York and arrived on Monday. The first place I wanted to go to was The Bay House. Called ahead and they told us that they served lunch until 3. We arrived at 2:05, looking forward to sitting on their back deck with the bay views. A rather rude hostess informed us that they stop serving on the patio at 2:00. She showed us a table where side work was being down several tables over from ours. Five minutes late and we couldn't be seated outside? We looked through the window and saw at least one table that still had their menus--all other tables were set. We were so blown away by their rude behavior that we left and had a beautiful lunch at Campiello's.

Not one to cross off a restaurant due to one bad experience, we tried again on Wed night. This time, we made reservations and specified deck seating. When we arrived, the hostess told us the deck was closed "due to anticipated rain" but that we could sit outside by their fire pit. What?!? How can one outside area be closed but not the other? I asked and she just shrugged her shoulders. We reluctantly sat outside by their fire pit. Two waiters approached us--seeming to fight over who would serve our table. After one took our drink order, the other came over and asked if we wanted drinks. When we were looking at the menu, the same thing. One asked if we were ready. After saying we needed a few more minutes, the other would come over and ask the same question. Completely uncoordinated!

During dinner, we were surprised to see both of them doing side work. The male waiter took the water container that they use to fill the pitchers and dumped it in the bushes several feet from our table. Can't you wait until we're done eating? Instead of asking if we needed anything (our drink glasses were empty), they continued to do side work. Had they asked, we would have ordered at least another round and most likely dessert. They weren't busy, either. It was just us and another table of two.

Fortunately for the restaurant, the food was great. I had the grouper sandwich and my now fiancé (who had planned on proposing on their back deck) had their shellfish platter. Both were great! Just the right amount of food and expertly prepared and presented. Kudos to their chefs!!!!

I've been coming to The Bay House for many years. It has always been our family's "go to" spot for lively happy hours, great food, and a nice atmosphere. It's very sad when poor service dissuades you from going to your favorite restaurant. We likely won't return.

Really enjoyed our meal here. Can dress up to eat here or dress casually. Not overpriced but would call it fine dining. We had a terrific waitress who was very attentive. Salads were well dressed and tasty; scallops nicely seared and my husband's house special seafood entree (mix of seafood) was very tasty and cooked just right. We had dessert (beignets) and enjoyed it, but a HUGE portion so be sure to share--served 5 large beignets with sauce to pour on them and were full after two! Beware.

We dined on a recent weekday evening and very much enjoyed it. The blue crab bisque had the heat of pepper but too few savory elements for me. My wife very much enjoyed her romaine hearts salad. Wines by the glass are available in a 6 ounce or 9 ounce size which we always appreciate. She also enjoyed her Nashville chicken entrée. I had the surf and turf and found the braised short rib of beef to be one of the best I've ever had with complex flavors. The grilled Gulf shrimp were good as well. We split a couple of scoops of ice cream for a simple dessert. The setting is superb with wonderful views of the river and wildlife.
