“Never Again!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2014

The staff are very rude and unprofessional. They switched rooms after they were booked 6 months in advance. The roods and bathrooms are dirty and stinky besides being old and outdated. The electricity is scary and has no fire alarms. It has no reachable outlets and no lights to go with all the light swtches. Was just a terrible experience and to think we paid for it. We would have moved if it hadn't been in season and everything booked 6 months in advance like we did this place. Stay away!

Room Tip: No restaurant or fitness center and air conditioner fan runs all not long - really noisy

Rude, clueless staff-- booked months in advance and they switched rooms promised.....old, icky......tiniest bathroom ever, no lights in 2nd BR.....never again!
Location fantastic -- close to shops but tiny, tiny 2nd BR and bath and no real plugs for chargers and hair dryers. Seriously, horrid little place!

Situated not far from all the very luxurious mansions, this was a greatbfind on our road trip. Welcomed by Steve at the reception that is like one from TV, but in a nice way.
You feel that this place is popular, and been going ages.
The pool is clean and warm, the laundry room cheap and efficient.
Rooms clean and functional (slightly dated, but thats part of the charm).
Very close (can walk) to all of the shops and restaurants just around the corner, or short drive to 5th ave or Tin City.

Mariner Apartments and Motel is an older, two-story Motel across the street from the famous Naples Pier. You simply can't beat the location. The motel is older (built in the mid 60's) but is kept clean and is in an area that is safe and adjacent to multi-million dollar homes.

The rooms are either 1 or two bedrooms (we stayed in a 2 bdrm), and have a full kitchen (complete with coffee maker, microwave, fridge, stove, sink, utensils), two bathrooms and 2 bedrooms (two doors in/out). Depending on your room, it may or may not be upgraded. Ours had laminate flooring and tile throughout and had an old Florida charm to it. Furniture is dated but functional and clean. The A/C worked well at all times (important in July!!!).
There is a large, 24'X50' heated pool at the back of the courtyard which was well maintained and sparkling. The courtyard in-between is lush with tropical flowers, grass and palm trees.

Two blocks behind the hotel is trendy, upscale Third Ave, complete with restaurants (Tommy Bahama, Old Naples Pub, Handsome Harry's, etc) and shopping (Tommy Bahama, Old Naples Surf Shop, 7-Eleven, etc). You will spot Bentleys, Astons, Porsches, etc parked along this Ave at all times, yet the restaurants are still affordable.
A short walk north (0.8 mile) you will find famous Fifth Ave with similar trendy shops/restaurants. Try Roma's Pizza on 5th for great pizza/pasta!

Can't say enough about the pier. Each morning and evening we spent time as a family walking along/near it and often spotted dolphins within 20 feet of the pier and even shore! Many fish are caught by the fishermen on the pier and one small shark was landed while we were watching the gorgeous sunsets (don't miss them)!

Overall, the Mariner is a charming older motel with an amazing location, reasonable rates and friendly staff.

Note: Maid service is optional ($), you have an in-room phone and an assigned, free parking space beside the motel.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the second floor overlooking the courtyard.

The Mariner is Naples hidden Gem. On this business trip, we passed on the chain hotels next to the highway and chose a 2 bedroom apartment at the Mariner. It's old Florida, 2 story concrete building (elevator) surrounding a lush tropical courtyard. Sparkling clean swimming pool, very friendly folks in the office. The apartments are small, very clean, 2 baths with showers, nice kitchen,& free wi-fi . Bedrooms have all twin beds; the only draw back we found.
Neighborhood is very quiet, full of million dollar homes, It's a short walk to shopping & dining. Just 1/2 block from the beach and Naples fishing pier. Sunset over the Gulf- priceless.

We have been visting the Mariner for over 18 years. We come across from our share apartment in Pompano for two or three nights to lovely Naples. The apartments are dated but always clean and fresh, although our stays have always been short we have always been treated with courtesy by the owner and the staff. It is good to stay somewhere where there is an assertive manager/owner. Isn't it funny how free loaders like the Meacher's don't like to hear the truth. Don't be put off by their review. A polite enquiry could have saved any misunderstanding.

After searching online for hotel rates in Naples, we decided to not book with any hotels until we could see the surrounding areas, since the rates were pretty high. Well, we arrived in Naples on a Thursday and drove to the beach and the pier first. The beach is awesome, the sand is so white and the water so clear. We then observed this motel which you can tell has been here a long time. The exterior is kept up along with the landscape. We spoke to a couple in the parking lot and they highly recommended it. We went inside the office and met with a male who answered all my questions in reference to the rules, etc. We asked if we could see a room and he said no problem. The room was like a studio apartment (living area , beds, and dining table all in one space. The room had two twin beds which we did not know if we were gonna like but sometimes you can do without the little things. Yes... the rooms are out dated (i.e the decor, windows, phone, etc) but they are clean. The room has a kitchen with a large fridge, stove, sink , glass ware and utensils. We did not come here to spend long periods of time in the room anyways. The bathroom is small but clean. The pool has a maximum depth of 8 ft and it is heated!! The motel was very quiet and peaceful. If you want to be loud, party and grilling, this is not the place for you then. I just had knee surgery approx 3 weeks ago and the short walk from our room to the beach and the pier did not hinder us one bit.The surrounding neighborhood is that of million dollar plus homes, you will see the police conducting a lot of patrols which is great.... keeps the bad at bay. The shops and dinners are very close also but we did not experience them as we decided to go to tin city for shopping and dinning.
I highly recommend this motel if you can be simple.

no ice machine after office is closed which i believe is 9 or 10pm. No pets.
