“Hard to find fault”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

We have been visiting Charter Club, Naples Bay for more than 30 years and regard it as our home from home in South West Florida. We have seen many changes in the area as Naples has adapted to the increase in tourism and Charter Club has certainly had its ups and downs. On our recent visit we found the resort in exceptionally good shape; welcoming and pristine it was hard to find fault. The apartments are well appointed and so much better than an hotel. For the staff nothing was too much trouble. The facilities and complimentary equipment are all in excellent condition with the exception of the fishing dock, damaged beyond repair in recent heavy weather and awaiting replacement. Tin City and Fifth Avenue shops and restaurants are great attractions within walking distance but the main attraction for many is still the brilliant white sand beach, 5-7 minutes drive away and stretching for several miles it is often almost deserted a mile south of the pier. We can't wait for our next visit!

Room Tip: Units numbered 1 to 5 (building nearest to reception) have the best views of Naples Bay.

Great location (within walking distance of 5th Ave, 3rd St and the beach), lovely apartment (nice decor, big balcony and well equipped) and the free bikes were an added bonus and we used them a number of times because it was so easy to cycle around. The pool area was lovely too. Just a few niggles. The hot tub was far too hot - the first day it was a nice temp, but after that it was much too hot to get in - have never had a hot tub this hot before. The tiki bar was also oddly closed on Tuesdays which was a shame as that's the day I fancied a nice drink! If you have problems with stairs, just be aware that there are no lifts and if you get a top floor apartment, two flights of stairs with heavy luggage is not easy. Overall, this is a great place to stay in Naples with friendly staff, and would love to go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor apartment if stairs are a problem

Very nice resort nearby the old town and near the beach. Quiet streets and nice grounds add to the feeling of being away from it all but close to the action. Resort sits on the river and has a dock, swimming pool, activity center and offers beach chairs, bikes and equipment for guests. Check in was smooth and personnel were very nice. Rooms are condos with good space, clean with nice furnishings. Units had screened in porches. Kitchens were reasonably well equipped. Parking is free and a car is recommended for site seeing. Groceries are available at several nearby stores though not within walking distance. Other shopping in old town is fine and not far away. Many good restaurants can be found in the Naples area. Site seeing, boating and water sports are big. We recommend driving through some of the neighborhoods or taking a boat cruise so you can see the homes. Very beautiful architecture and landscaping abound. One tour leaves off the resort dock and is worthwhile. The dolphins are fun to watch. .

Room Tip: ground floor near the lobby is nice.

We have been going to the Charter Club for a few years now and its great as ever. The view from the pool area makes you feel like you are staying in one of the 15 million dollar houses down the block. The occasional dolphin swimming past and the gentle breeze is so relaxing. Lower number units have the best view and if you cant walk up the stairs it would be best to ask for a lower floor unit. Cant wait to use the bicycles to go to the beach tomorrow which is located a few blocks away. There is a park next door where kids can play and people can eat at picnic tables right along the water. Feels like home coming back to the Charter Club each year.

We booked a lovely two bedroomed apartment here for one night's stay on 15th December. We got a great deal. The car parking was easy and the booking in process was quick and efficient. Our apartment was on the second floor which was a bit of a negative for carrying a heavy case upstairs but the reward of a large balcony with an amazing view over the water and Naples Bay was a just reward.

There was every convenience including a large fridge, cooking equipment and glasses, two T.V's and washing and drying facilities. We walked around the Bay and then to 5th Avenue a 15 minutes stroll away. The bars, restaurants and designer shops here kept us very entertained and we ate at a restaurant on 5th Avenue and wandered back to the apartment later that evening. An all too brief visit but extremely good location.

Room Tip: Second floor is best for the view

We stayed here 10 years ago and driving into the property felt like we were coming home. We love the place, it's family feel and beautifully kept grounds and apartments. The pool area over looks the waterways and you can watch pelicans, dolphins and boats all day. We also saw two manatees which is something of a rarity apparently. The apartments have a traditional feel but with all the amenities you'd need and a few more on top. Within walking distance of the beach, 3rd street south and 5th avenue. We'll be back again without a doubt.

Great location, clean, comfortable and spacious units with all the comforts of home. They even have bicycles, coolers, beach chairs and umbrellas for use for free for guests. Pool and hot tub are right on the bay with great views of the passing boats.
