“Our second stay-Great Experience”
Reviewed June 12, 2010

My husband and I had stayed at Pelican Bay for one night a year or so ago. I enjoyed the ambience so much I selected this hotel again for a longer stay when meeting my sister in Naples for a winter getaway. We loved the beautiful decor, and found the room to be well appointed, and comfortable. Because of special dietary needs, the frig in the room was much appreciated! The pool area is lovely and was not too crowded. The continental breakfast was a cut above what many hotels include, with a variety of foods available. The staff was unobtrusive yet helpful when asked. The location is one mile from Vanderbilt Beach (a beautiful morning walk) and minutes away from many restaurants, shopping, and all that Naples has to offer. My next visit to Naples unfortunately requires that I stay at another hotel for business meetings - but given a choice, I will be back to the Inn at Pelican Bay!

Arrived in Naples for a family wedding. Many members stayed @ this Inn. What I liked best was the location. Daytime front desk greeters can be more welcoming, especially the little man wearing the flower shirts. Common area was clean and kept up. While trying to visit and chat with distant relatives, we chose to sit on the veranda and at the pool area... The "bar-keeper" was not knowledgeable in preparing cocktails and definitely needed an attitude adjustment , when inquiries were made on several topics. A simple yes or no or suitable answer would suffice. He had the same condescending demeanor of other staff members. Not a realistic sample of Southern hospitality. Luckily, this was the last cousin to be married in Naples. When visiting the area next, we will be sure to look elsewhere.

We had a family wedding in Naples over Memorial weekend. The hotel held a block of rooms for wedding guests at the rate of $119 per night. Upon check out other family members were charged $139 per night. We questioned the rate - the very rude hotel clerk said there were 2 rates for the wedding- one at 119 for no view(parking lot) and 139 for lake view(manmade by the way) We told them we were never told of the two different rates and wanted the 119 rate. I had the rate of 119 and had a lake view, the clerk looked at me with shock like I robbed the place. So he goes to the back and a minute later the manager comes out in this stupid tropical shirt and yells at us "WHO GOT THE FREE UPGRADE?" saying I should be honored that I got an upgrade! I turned in disgust and told him that that is not the way to handle matters and their customer service stunk!! minutes later - the hotel clerk said since the reservationist made a mistake giving me that rate -they would honor it for all of us! Other things about the hotel is that there is no food, except an ok continental breakfast, a bar that was closed sunday and monday of a holiday weekend with a sold out status! pool too small, pool towels are too small- 3 needed to cover a lounge- refrigerator in our room wasn't working- called to complain - service man came to check it out-said he would be back- and never did! A relative upon check in was looking for water for someone and saw cups and a sink in a conference room so she took one and some tap water and was scoulded by the desk clerk ! No so called boutique hotel should be run like this-and to top it off- the front desk said something to one of our party upon checkin like - your in Naples and you want everyone to know!!! rude rude rude

Stayed 2 nights for a weekend get away. Hotel is beautifully furnished and clean as a whistle. The bedding was luxurious and the bed comfy. The shower could use some type of ledge or caddy to place your toiletries on instead of the floor. The air conditioner was not powerful enough to cool the entire room. We purchased a fan to circulate the air better. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't hot, just not as cool as we like it. Also, the most lacking was a tourist information rack. We had to drive to the Naples Information Center miles away to get local information. The Inn is nicely located with beach access just one mile away. Lovely place to stay and the price was great compared to others in the area. May is a wonderful time of year for Naples, hot, but not too humid.

This hotel was great for a quick and quiet trip with me and my husband. Location was good. It was right across the street of a Publix and movie theatre. Tons of restuarants right off the main street. It is about 3/4 of a mile away from the beach, which isn't bad if you want to rent a bike (which they have available), but it is difficult to find parking on the beach if you are traveling to Naples during peak season. The complimentary breakfast was good. It included delicious make your own waffles, fruit, yogurt, danish, toast, and bagels with coffee, and orange juice. The room was cozy and very clean. My husband and I enjoyed our stay.

Had an enjoyable stay here. Rooms were comfortable. As read in another review, we made sure we were not near the elevators that were noisy. The best part of the stay was the breakfast. There was an excellent choice of very good quaity. We ate outside in the veranda area overlooking the lake and this was such a relaxing location. The pool was good for a refreshing dip out of the hot sun. The staff were attentive and helpful and free parking. A relaing stay convieniently located for beach( was quite a walk) and eateries to meet a range of budgets

We LOVED Pelican Bay. We stayed for 3 nights in April ( before the volcano!!) and loved every minute of it. We had paid the extra for a lake view & it was lovely. The hotel has the feel of a Country Club. The terrace overlooking the pool & lake was a great place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. The pool was small but ideal for just lazing around in. Plenty of towels supplied at pool area. Enjoyed the outdoor hot tub too. Our room was very spacious, comfortable & clean. Good quality balcony furniture...no nasty white plastic chairs. Unusually for America you could walk to a few restaurants nearby. Across the road was Buca di Beppo where you share huge portions of pasta...... great fun. A rack with tourist info in the lobby would be useful. We had an absolutely delightful stay...I didn't want to leave and I wouldn't hesitate to return.
