“Old Florida Charm...near perfect!”
Reviewed March 12, 2010

This is an older beachfront property that has been perfectly maintained and shines with recently re-done rooms. The spacious rooms are fresh, with tasteful/pretty decor and very comfortable with good beds and fine quality linens. Our big bathroom was new and had good water pressure. The layout of the resort is wonderful - lots of nice oceanfront seating areas, three good pools, beachfront dining choices, nice lawn yards and walkways for strolling all facing the beach. The entire resort is quiet and relaxing with lots of character. 3rd generation family owned and pride in ownership shows - the place is spotless! Beautiful lobby with good furniture, well-stocked coffee/sundries shop. Complaints about the golf course must be by hackers who have no appreciation for a lovely old course - very dry here so the greens are not too green! Located near old Naples - nice shopping/cafes etc. We are very picky travelers and checked-out of 'fancy' La Playa (just a few miles north on busy Vanderbilt Beach) which was cramped/noisy, small smelly rooms with fancy/tacky decor and hairy bathroom floors - LaPlaya is way overpriced.
Our FL driving trip consisted of several nights @ Don CeSar on St. Pete Beach, Longboat Key Club & Resort (Sarasota) and here at Naples Beach and Golf Resort. All three are perfect for the picky traveler wanting the best of Florida.

We have stayed here the last few years. We love the 1950's feel upgraged to days standards. Our room in the Watkins building was large and recently upgraded, They added a second pool and the beach bar is great as ever. The golf course needs serious work. It's bearly above mini standards but with resort prices. If your not on the breakfast plan try the Clock restaurant across the street.

What a comedy of errors from the moment we checked into our "room with a view" Thank God our family can find humor in the situation and have fun wherever we are............this place is trying to be something it is not! I would describe it as an updated, not renovated, "motel" at best. It is a $100- $120 per night value and they charged us $500!! The staff is disorganized, there are no tubs for bathing the babe, the kids club is a run down room, the crib came with no bumpers so I had to make my own with towels (it is a metal crib) , the restaurants in the place were terrible, and it is simply not a nice place! I am not a picky person and I own a service business so I do not write this review without great thought and understanding of what a bad reviews can do to a business. But they really need to evaluate their business and what they are offering and what they stand for..............I will never return and if you have read this far you should never go!!!

Clearly false advertising. It is worth $120 per night at best. This is not as advertised.

The pluses: The SPA and services, our babysitter Carol Whelan were great.

The minuses: Our room was switched due to construction and we got downgraded, then mooved again, so we decided to leave and go to the Ritz Carlton up the road and about thee same price!! The people were friendly but just couldn't get it right from our room shuffle to the kids club being closed after confirmation, to our crib missing after several calls and on and on.....

The Naples Beach Hotel is fabulous. My wife and I spent a week in a Superior Suite (#611 & #609) on the sixth floor of the Watkins building. Our room was exactly as advertised and described. All new bathrooms, 2 walk in showers, jacuzzi, 2 balconies, kitchenette and plenty of room. One balcony overlooked the Watkins Lawn and provided protection from the wind and the other gave us great views of the gulf and overlooked the new pool area. The Sunset Beach Bar and pool area is an absolute blast. Doug, Edmund, Lou and Kelly make great drinks and are fun personable hosts. The Seminole Store is well stocked and has a great variety of snacks, fantastic desserts (chocolate mousse cake and NY style cheescake), fresh pastries and pizza. The lobby of the Naples Beach Hotel is a great meeting place with many different seating areas, a fireplace, a baby grand piano, a lobby bar, fresh flowers and a casual relaxed atmosphere. But the most impressive aspect are the grounds. The lawns are beautiful and unique and the mature palms are in great abundance and give the resort a true tropical feel. While planning this trip I had several conversations with the front desk staff to insure there would be no surprises. Kelly, Maria, Gina, and yes that "Russian assistant manager" were all helpful, friendly amd professional. Any surprises we encountered during our visit were positive ones. The Naples Beach Hotel is not the Ritz-Carlton (we've stayed at both). It's not stuffy, the staff is friendlier, the suites are larger and less expensive. We can't wait to return. A great time...a great value.

What a great resort. I stayed at the Beach Hotel in January and I am planning my trip back in march. The Hotel is family owned and there are many international employees that provide the best service I ever had in a 4-5 Star Hotel. I booked a ocean view room but asked for an upgrade; since it was my wife’s birthday. I talked to the Front Desk Manager from Germany and he upgraded us to a Gulf view suite for only $ 50 more per night. When we got back to the suite later that evening he surprised us with a bottle of champagne and strawberries that had been set up in out room including a nice letter to welcome us to the hotel and to wish my wife a happy birthday. What a great service!

If you booking a suite ask for (Room 92, 93, 193 or 192) they are right on the beach with direct excess to the water; there is a little hot tub in the bathroom. You can hear the waves while you sleep. :-) They also rent bikes to get around old Naples but everything is in walking distance. Soon they are going to open two new pools that will also have hot tubes outside right on the beach. I cant really wait to get back there in March. Keep up the good service & thank you for the great experience.
