This is a strange hotel. Basically it is old and is showing the signs of being old. The main building is sort of art deco but really a concrete monstrosity. There are 7 buildings in total with two of them looking a bit like a cheap motel rather than a $500 per night hotel. The rooms are OK, clean and reasonably decorated but I guess you could get allocated a room anywhere with a very poor outlook. We specified a room in The Watkins Building on a high floor and had good views up the beach. There is only one bar and this is on the beach and is used by locals as well as guests especially on Sunday nights when there is live music. You cannot get served which is poor for guests that have paid $500 per night. Food in the bar was very average. I guess the hotel can get away with the poor standard because it is only one of two hotels in Naples that are directly on the beach. The Edgewater is on the beach but again is an Art Deco tired hotel. The Waldorf Astoria is not directly on the beach but is behind a mangrove swamp so it is very near. Although it is a couple of miles north of downtown Old Naples is the only decent hotel near the beach. Naples is a superb town and well worth visiting to see how the other half live but don't expect a good hotel on the beach. It is very annoying these days to be charged for internet access and extremely annoying to be charged $47 per day for two sun beds and an umbrellas to sit on the beach. There are not enough beds around the pools so unless you get up early and reserve beds then you more or less have to pay to sit on the beach. I certainly would not stop again as there are too many things to annoy. If it was $200 per night then maybe but not at $500.

Room Tip: Difficult to specify a good room as you could end up with a completely rubbish view. The Watkins Bui...

I have visited this hotel several times, never spending the night. The best time is on
Sunday nightes with the live music at the pool and then going to watch the sunset.
Grounds and view is just fantastic.
I suggest to get there early, because parking is a problem. You can usually find a spot maybe
a block or two away.
This is a hot spot of Naples anytime of the year.

We were very disappointed to visit this property and find that it needs so much work. Due to it's history and Miami style architecture, it could be amazing. The location is nice and the view is wonderful, but there are much nicer properties in the area. I was also surprised at how inattentive the staff is toward the guests. The majority of them did not make eye contact or say hello. The experience was far different from what we have seen at many hotels today where the staff is outgoing with the "It's My Pleasure" attitude. Lastly, the outdoor bar should be evaluated. Wine bottles are stashed in the same ice used for drinks, leftover drink mix is left in the blender, the metal trays are rusting and there is an odor.

Looking to escape the long NY winter, my husband and I booked a last minute visit to Naples. The Naples Beach Hotel met my checklist....sun, sand, spa and tennis all in one place!

Areas for improvement: Agree with other reviewers that the hotel's decor looks a little tired, but I felt the hotel was very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate at the on site restaurant and found the service to be extremely poor. We sat for 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged us (finally waving down the manager). Poolside lunch was very good, but very expensive (approx $50 for 2 burgers and a drink).

Things that I liked: Sunday night they had a band with a great crowd...fun energy, dancing outside. Yoga on the beach. Beautiful location for sunset views!

I would recommend a rental car. We did not rent one, but wish we did!

Overall, a great vacation...very happy with this hotel.

Room Tip: Worth the $50 upgrade per night for an ocean view room!

This was the perfect vacation for a get away from the long cold winter. We were lucky that every day was sunny either 79 or 80 degrees. The room in the Watkins building was not luxurious but perfectly fine. Very clean with an updated bathroom. Very little drawer space if that's a concern.
The pool was beautiful and a very short walk to the beautiful gulf. The beach was pristine.

Like everyone else here the high cost of beach chairs and umbrellas is annoying. Quite frankly I have never had to pay for lounge chairs at any beach resort but I have had to pay for the additional ammenity of an umbrella. I can deal with that.

The location minutes away from 5th Avenue was ideal.

All in all I would definitely return.

Room Tip: I liked the Watkins. My room had a partial ocean view with a balcony. I would definitely request t...

We gathered here last week with family members -- 4 rooms on the ground level of the Florida wing. The rooms were sparse -- a little tired looking. We were lucky to have a suite and had no problem with noise above us during our 4 days and 3 nights there. But other family members were awakened every night by noise from the rooms above them. The lobby was grim -- lots of sofas and chairs and tables but oh so depressing with worn furniture and no effort to decorate! The breakfast is fine, tho pricey (too bad the charges were always incorrect), but the lunch choices are horrible on-site. Although we walked home from the Old Naples area of 5th Avenue, I doubt many people, especially with kids, would attempt that!

This last vacation was our third time vacationing here with our family and this time was even better than the last times! With children arriving from all over the country at different times having 3 options for meals; poolside, beach bar or restaurant access to great food was fabulous and convenient.
Our son suffers from extreme and rare digestive allergies and the Executive Chef met with me and provided exceptional, delicious, safe options for him. The entire wait staff was attentive and so kind and courteous to him. They all went above and beyond for him which gave us peace of mind. We love this resort- its location, beautiful pools, open green lawn for kids to play, great golf course and har-tru tennis courts and wonderful food and service. Highly recommend and will continue to be our first choice resort in Naples.
