“Love the Gulf side Beach”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

Note: it is more enjoyable to swim on the Gulf side of Florida, i think, than the Gold Coast side. Less turbulence and easier approach into the water. And, on the Gulf side you can enjoy the restaurant and bar close to the water. This hotel is special for its staff. Everywhere the staff is friendly and engaging and helpful. One of my pet annoyances at restaurants is being oversold and subject to sales pitches, but I found none of that here. The food, from sandwiches to dinner entrees is very fresh, well prepared and delicious. Compared to other RCs, yes, this is more relaxed upscale beach atmosphere, less of the formal elegance I found in San Francisco and other locations.

My wife and I find the resorts and ocean on the east coast of Florida to be more elegant and enjoyable. Ritz WPB is smaller, yet more of an upscale feel to it.

Best part of our experience at the Ritz in Naples in Gumbo Limbo, a restaurant overlooking the beach where you can watch the sun go down...the food and drinks are very good too!

Awesome grounds food and pools! I understand the rooms are to be renovated and updated! Great now, can't wait to see the improvements! Did I mention the great beach? You must stop by the ice cream and chocolate shop!

Spent a great weekend at the Ritz Carlton Naples beach resort. It was fantastic from start to finish. The attention to detail and customer service is seen everywhere. On check in mentioned we were there for a birthday and by the time we got back from lunch, local handmade chocolates and a personalized birthday card had been delivered to the room. That was just the start of a weekend of excellent service. Beach is wonderful. Quiet pool nice since it is also a family destination resort. We ate at The Grill, Gumbo Limbo, and Bites. Not a single meal disappointed. The place looked fantastic but the hotel is shutting down for 2 months this summer for a top to bottom renovation. We can't wait to come back and see the changes.

I had a three night stay here for a business conference. It was one of the best places I have ever stayed! The people were so welcoming and the property was gorgeous! There is a really fun tiki bar right on the beach. It was so nice to sit our there and look at the beautiful view of the ocean. The rooms were luxurious. My favorite story about my stay here is when I was at the gym sweating away on the treadmill, a gym worker came over with water and a rolled up face towel that had been in the freezer and smelled slightly of mint! I strongly recommend!

Our second stay was even better than the first!
The beautiful beach (clean warm water, no waves, soft sand) and amazing staff really make this hotel special, of course the grounds and the hotel itself are gorgeous.
We had a gulf-view, corner room on the top floor which is concierge level. Room was a good size and spotless. Again, I wish their bathrooms didn't have combo tub/shower but it was all very clean and updated.
The staff on the concierge level was wonderful. They went above and beyond. They made our little daughter feel special and always remembered her name. Thank you to Ellen, Esmeralda, Nick and the rest of the staff.

Just one very small annoyance: Being charged to use umbrellas on the beach even when you are renting a pool cabana at $300 full day. Its just not necessary to nickel and dime someone who is already paying that much for a cabana. I believe the fee to use umbrella and chair at beach (not the pool) is $25/day.

We stayed here for a friend's wedding, there were 4 adults plus a child in one room, we stayed in a large room with 2 double beds and a balcony. The room was quite large, we were upgraded to a bigger room because of our platinum status with Marriott, it was a really nice room.

The bathroom felt luxurious and had separate areas for the toilet and sink/shower, which was really great since we had 4 adults. The room had a nice foyer with a coffee maker and then there was a lovely balcony which overlooked the pools and had a view of the ocean. Unfortunately we never used the pool areas or the beach as we were very busy with wedding festivities not on the property.

We ate at the hotel restaurant for breakfast, the service was excellent, but the food was overpriced, which is what I usually expect at a nicer hotel, be prepared to spend $40/per person on breakfast if you eat at the hotel.

My husband and I used the spa because our hotel room was not ready when we checked in so they gave us a pass to the spa to check it out. It was okay for a spa, but not what you would expect for a Ritz Carlton. The spa could use an upgrade, it was underwhelming, if you like the spa experience, lounging in the luxurious locker rooms etc, it was adequate but not fabulous.

The hotel does have a really cool hotel that's right on the beach called Gumbo Limbo and while we did not eat there we checked it out and it seemed really neat, I would check it out if you are there, it feels very florida/beachy/rustic.

Overall I would stay at this property again, and felt like it was well kept up and definitely had that Ritz feel!

Room Tip: ask for a high floor and a pool/ocean view or balcony, its worth the upgrade
