“Nice find!”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

We normally never stay at little motels but this one was a blast! The courtyard around the pool is adorable! Tiki bar, tables and loungers to use, a full bar and food menu all without having to leave the motel. Our ground floor room right across from the pool entrance was fabulous. It looked like it had been newly remodled. The breakfast area was tiny with only a few options so we went else where for breakfast. This was a pleasant suprise, you would never think this Tiki bar oasis is hiddin in there!

Well, I am not big on staying in hotels which aren't associated with a major chain but after checking the reviews on here I thought that I would give this place a try. The location is excellent, which is tucked in the middle of a busy commercial area. However, once in your room or by the pool area you forget that you aren't in a resort area. The hotel is very close to the beach and beautiful downtown Naples. If you get a chance to check out the downtown area, it is beautiful and has tons of local restaurants and locally owned shops. Upon checking into the hotel I was greeted by Diego who was wonderful. He was very friendly and provided me a brief over view. This would not be typical of my stay. The rest of the staff wasn't friendly at all. One day at 1 pm I called to ask for fresh towels because I missed housekeeping. The attendant had a severe attitude and I was told that housekeeping was gone, so I would have to come to get them myself. Once at the front desk I found that house keeping was still there.

Anyway, I was informed that most of the rooms at the hotel are individually owned and maintained but operated as a hotel. Therefore, I was glad I read the review below which had me reserve room # 109. The room was very updated and excellent! The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and it had all of the modern requirements. I was surprised to find hardwood floors, nice cabinets with granite counter tops, a flat screen tv mounted on the wall, a longing chair and a small breakfast nook. My favorite part of the room was the bathroom. The tiled out shower which demonstrated a strong shower head, plenty of hot water, beautiful glass doors and a pebble shower floor which feels amazing on your feet. I LOVED THE BATHROOM! lol I may update my bathroom at home soon to be similar.

The pool area was beautiful! The pool is heated and clean. The area is surrounded with lush gardens and has servers to serve you food and non or alcoholic beverages. The servers were great but work for a different company. The bar area by the pool had excellent food which was fresh and reasonably priced. The restaurant was always busy there, you could see locals coming and going all of the time. There was also a Japanese steakhouse and sushi restaurant attached to the hotel which was always busy but I never made it over there.

The only recommendations that I would make would be (1) replace the bed cover, it looks cheap (2) replace the small ironing board with a larger on even if you have to place it on the back of a door and (3) provide some dishes such as plates and cups.

All of this being said, I could have stayed at the hotel for several days without ever leaving. This place was excellent with the exception of the staff and I would love to stay there again, if I could stay in room # 109 again.

Room Tip: Room # 109 if you only need a single king

Room 107 far from opulent (see review below) - very old bed with the extremely rock hard spring coil mattress, everything outdated but still serviceable. The bonus for this property is the big courtyard/pool area with tiki bar and restaurant. From the road you would not expect this to be there. Lots of lounge chairs around the pool. Didn't do the breakfast - it didn't look like much other than some bagels. Don't stay here thinking you'll see the water or the beach. It is far, far away.

Even tho emailed reservation in hand no want to honor. Diana needs to find job not in hospitality business. JJ the manager. The J is for jerk. That's why it's double. Their model is the customer is always wrong.
Rooms are the pits. Great location and pool an 2 great restaurants is only reason exits. Stay close by cheaper and walk over for happy hour

We've just spent two nights at the Gulfcoast Inn, as part of a week's stay on the Gulfcoast and what a find! We booked in advance (advisable as the rate they were showing was $30 more than we paid per night) and were overall really pleased. There is a lovely atmosphere at the Gulfcoast, the staff are friendly and knowledgable and the pool area is really nice (the heated pool was a bonus as it's not super-hot in Florida in December). A definite highlight was the poolside restaurant, Harolds Place - good, reasonably priced food and drink, a great bar and a cool vibe in the evenings. It's about a 10 minute drive from downtown Naples and the beach, and very easy to find as it's on the main 41 road.

We only had two things that let down our stay. The first was the bathroom in our room - whilst the room was lovely and clearly recently renovated, the bathroom is small, old and could really use a lick of paint and a new shower. The second was the breakfast, which was pretty minimal - only bagels, waffles and doughnuts were on offer, so if you were looking for something vaguely healthy, you were out of luck!

However, these are two small things that were by no means deal-breakers. We would definitely return to this very unique hotel - perfect if you're lookIng to get away from the bigger chain hotels.

Wow! I can't even begin to tell you about how happy I was pre booking room 237. My group was here for three days on business and we needed to be in the center of Naples as we had business in both North Naples, and South Naples during all three days. So this was the perfect location. The room was FANTASTIC!! A great view of the pool and tiki bar, King sized bed, flat screen TV, HBO, wood floors with tile and granite in the shower to boot. This room was AMAZING! Some of the others in the group (11 of us) had rooms that had not been re-done. Oh boy, it was like a bad throwback to 1973 those rooms....and they smelled too.
Definately try to get a room that has been re-done like 237 is.

Room Tip: Choose room 237 or definately one like it that has been totally re-done.

The staff is nice and the free breakfast is good. The pool area is nice. The location is central in Naples and easy to find. There is a nice little microwave and fridge area with cabinets for food. Only complaint is pretty uncomfortable beds and rooms need updated a bit.
