“Nice Appetizers near the Water”

A very nice bar that overlooks the Naples river. Great food and presentation (had the mussels), but it was $$$$ pricey.

“Been again this year, but!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2013

We visited Naples in October 2013. Roy's was one of our "bankers" as we ate there Sept 2012 and enjoyed the whole experience. This year a different kettle of fish, the Monday night offer had substantially changed with, to our liking, too many exclusions. The price had also gone up and the three course option had been replaced by a two course. We ate outside which to us Brits is wonderful but the atmosphere was sadly lacking.
We also went for happy hour as you do. But although busy again the atmosphere was lacking I think the open plan is working against them. On both visits the service was good and efficient.

“Smallest pour of wine I have ever received”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2013

Four of us went to Roy's on Saturday evening. The first thing we did was order our drinks. Two of us ordered wine. My $11 glass of red wine came served in a white wine glass - clearly to make it appear as though there was more than a few sips in the glass. My friend's white wine was equally as small. When we asked our server about the short pour he explained that Roy's pours a 4 ounce glass. Seriously? (It was probably a bit less than 4oz). A 4 oz pour equates to over 6 glasses from a bottle. We ended up buying a bottle as that actually wasn't a rip off. Unfortunately it is unlikely that Roy's will be on our list to return to any time soon. Did I mention that I have a business on 5th Avenue right down the street? Too bad that Chef Noah's fantastic meals were brought down by the wine and the manager's attitude.

“Thank You Roy's for Making Our 30th Anniversary So Special!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2013

My husband and I were so happy we decided on Roy's for our anniversary night's dinner. They made us feel so welcome from the minute we walked in. We were seated on the outdoor patio overlooking the river, just lovely. On opening the menu, we were so surprised to find a special page included in the folder congratulating us on our 30 years of marriage. What a nice touch! We started off with delicious edamame, followed by complimentary tasty sushi rolls. I had the mahi mahi on buttered rice while my husband had the grilled salmon. Both were superb, visually and to the palette. After dinner they brought us a chocolate soufflé for dessert with Happy Anniversary written in melted chocolate. At the end of the evening, they rolled up the anniversary greetings with ribbons, and presented us with a photo of the two of us they'd been nice enough to take earlier. Everyone there was so nice and friendly. It was such an enjoyable experience. We can't say enough good things about Roy's. Whenever we travel from now on, we will be checking to see if there's a Roy's in town.

“Fair meal on this visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2013

Good value for the fixed price meal and a decent choice of fish or meat for the main course. Once again the service was fast paced which is not suited to us. We should have made a remark at the beginning of our meal to let the waiter know that we at least like to finish our pre-dinner cocktails before we begin our meal. Eventually we did tell the to slow down the service.
