Great place to stay. When sitting on the balcony after sunset, I enjoyed having a beer and conversations while watching the yachts pull into the marina and somehow seamlessly pull into there assigned slip for the night.

Dear ResortTraveler2020,

Thank you for your review and delighted that you found the resort to be a great place to stay and an excellent conference venue. Sunset on the balcony is the perfect way to relax at Naples Bay while watching the boats come and go from the marina. I hope we can welcome you back to the resort in the not too distant future.

Sincerely,

John Reilly

Naples Bay Resort (NBR), a Tuscan-styled property with a marina and a bay at its centre, is a short jaunt from the groovy Fifth Avenue culture in the crux of Naples, Florida. Right on the front porch of the NBR is the folksy tourist village & mall of Tin City, full of sea-themed souvenir shops & waterfront dining. This Resort, is perfectly positioned for Everglade adventures, beach escapes and cosmopolitan excursions. The NBR is embedded in a yacht club atmosphere, minutes from the area's celebrated white sandy beaches ( the resort is not seaside) and offers complimentary shuttle service to the beaches & centre-city. A big draw to the resort is its fully operational marina with direct access to the Gulf as well as providing boat rental, charters, fishing excursions, kayaks and other boating activities.

The NBR complex is an enormous 20 acre posh property that has a split hospitality personality: one (the Hotel/Marina), is the 97 slip marina (boaters fantasy) with luxury hotel and the other (the Club) is a cottage-country atmosphere with a busy water-themed recreation park. The 2 segments are linked by a nature trail through a landscape of banyan trees and hibiscus flowers. The courtyard of the Club is a lively hub of leisure with a full spa, 5 swimming pools (one for adults, one lap pool, one meandering lazy river, one for kids and one for overflow), tennis courts, a friendly pool bar & grill, large family-friendly cottages and an gargantuan fitness centre with Pilates and aerobic studios.

My 1st exposure to the property generated an impressive feeing. There are Italianesque fountains, landscaping, plush and cloaked tropically, with precisely manicured greens and cobblestone and interlocking brick stroll ways. The buildings of this resort complex are configured as a villa community with scenic red-striped awnings, wrought iron railings and decorative balconies that overlook the marina and bay. Red tile roofs and exterior walls clad with Tuscan gold and orange paint flavour, round out the Mediterranean architecture of the NBR.

The lobby is elaborate with lanterns, a grand sweep of mosaic flooring, with sunny colours of terra cotta and saffron. Orchids sprout out of giant vases and bronze wrought-iron, trims the lobby space. Distinguished art dots the walls as well as a collage of arches and porte d'arches. Large glass doors open to the natural brilliance of sunny days and yachts bobbing up, down and sideways in their slips at the marina.

The rooms, suites and cottages at the NBR are extremely spacious and the various configurations can offer oversized living rooms, full kitchens, balconies (all rooms) and floor templates with up to 2 bedrooms. I opted for a King Superior with a Balcony Marina View. This variant of room category featured beige wall-to-wall carpeting, heavy drapes, wall art framing tropical scenes, pops of deep rust and red with dark wood furniture. My bedroom space was a tad tired and would benefit from a face lift to bring it up to modern and updated standards. All the necessary electronic appliances were there and the bath housed beige tile furnishings with a shower/tub combo.

Four indépendant restaurants are on board at the NBR including:

1500 SOUTH:...the big gun eatery at the NBR and Naples for that matter. A super chic restaurant with a striking interior of white leather and black ebony. It serves up southern comfort food with a gourmet twist and the menu is dynamic and tasty with items like Fried Chicken with Rosemary Biscuits or you could dive into some Shrimp & Octopus Grits & Fried Green Tomatoes....it doesn't get much more southern than that,
BLUEWATER GRILL:...a notch above what would be considered standard poolside fare, the Bluewater serves contemporary specialties. Flip over the Tamiami Tacos or the
Almost Famous Burger (a legend here) topped off with a Gulf Breeze cocktail,
CATALINA CAFE:...a waterfront patio and a menu of smoothies and juices, lox, bagels egg dishes...and more ..I tried an egg sandwich....something so simple and so good for breakfast,
BONEFISH GRILLE:...a very popular Floridian food franchise with a menu full of innovative dishes and an extensive line up of fresh seasonal delicacies from the sea....try those jumbo sea scallops.

So, if you are looking for a comprehensive resort, with a hotel/marine/cottage lifestyle with a myriad of amenities including a full service marina for boat devotees and positioned close to the heart of Naples......then try the ........Naples Bay Resort & Marina
.........All Amenities Aboard.
