I am much more inclined to agree with Lara's review than the step-by-step critique by the boater. We just returned today from a 5 night stay and the only think negative I can think of this place is that the there were not a sufficient amount of tables and chairs within the small room devoted to the continental breakfast. That and the toaster being placed on a too small pedestal type piece of furniture. I mean, these are the only 2 things I can find an issue with and certainly they are too minor to matter, but the reason you come to this place is simply to relax and you can do that easily at Naples Bay resort. It is simply wonderful, beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. The beds were wonderful, the maid service top notch and attentive in every way and to every detail. We got room service from Olio Restaurant the first night and they delivered within 15 or 20 minutes. The hotel is ideally located. You can walk to the great shops on Fifth Ave. or across the street to the shops at the beautiful condos on the bay (name escapes me, but there is a walkway under the road from Tin City over to it). We did alot of walking and particularly enjoyed the short and scenic walk from the Hotel over to the Cottages, where there is a large pool area ideal for families and children, and across from that (separated by the little lazy river area) is the "Quiet Area." This is pool, lounge chairs and cabanas you can rent ($40 a day/no amenities, $75 with amenities, e.g., food, evian spritz, reading material, etc.) in the quiet area and it truly is respected as such. No children, no music...just peace. Bathrooms right there, spa right there--go in and have a sauna or steam. My husband liked the fitness portion very much and the weights and equipment were more than adequate. Very excellent, actually. Lunch time the restaurant's waiter comes to ask if you are interested in lunch, which we did have served. Very tasty and fun. We ate on Fifth St. at the mexican restaurant for lunch one day (very fun, very good-prix fixe lunch menu we got was $22.99/paella for 2 and a glass of sangria) and one night, hit another prix fixe place called Cafe Luna. $30 bought us each a nice italian dinner with a bottle of wine. We were going to eat at Jane's on 3rd Ave. but it was closed, but Luna was great...Delicious and festive. One night we ate at the Cheesecake Factory which is only a short drive from the resort--it's one of my fave restaurants, so was glad to see one there. There is such beauty in old Naples. Very upscale, without being snobbish. We also hit the Miromar outlets one day-don't miss it, it's huge and alot of fun. I didn't see great bargains, but if you hunt enough you'll come away with a few. It takes pretty much the day and very pleasant. By all means, consider Naples Bay Resort. We had a one bedroom suite that had two bathrooms, a full kitchen with dining area, full size appliances and having a washer and dryer was very convenient. A great balcony afforded us the opportunity to sit on a lounge chair and sip a glass of wine after a long day. You will not be disappointed with this resort. Angie, Robin, and the lovely blonde concierge, thank you for the attentive service. Everyone there is friendly and accommodating and if i missed your name at the front desk, forgive me, because every one of the staff was sweet and helpful. We will look forward to coming back, but for a longer stay next time. By the way, do yourself a favor and take the Trolley tour. You will get a 2+ hour tour and see more territory than you will from your rental car and the opportunity to return to some of the places that interested you.
