Never found the hard bottomed reef, but right off shore did some great snorkeling today. Winds were from the east at 6 mph so water was perfectly calm and clear. This is by far the best snorkeling I have done outside of the many coral reefs I have visited. For the most part, the bottom is sandy. As you go a little farther north, you encounter small rocks on the bottom. Saw several different kinds of basic fish, live sand dollars, tons of hairy sea hares and a fairly large crab. I would highly recommend this beach!
