First time trying Peruvian food & Walter (owner & our waiter) helped us out. Only about 40 seats & strip mall location should not deter you. Delicious & very reasonably priced. The Causa de Camarones (cold mashed potatoes, shrimp, avocado) was as tasty as it was beautiful. And don't let veal hearts scare you, the Anticuchoes were also great. Unique selection of non alcoholic drinks & beer/wine. We will be back.

Walter, the owner and our waiter for the evening, revealed that La Cuisine had been open only a week when we dined there. While not nearly as large, attractive, and popular as Inca's Kitchen, La Cuisine tilts toward that sort of upscale, fusion cooking and away from the more traditional Peruvian peasant style. With only a week's worth of practice, La Cuisine presented a mostly positive dining experience for my friend and me.

It is clear that La Cuisine opened with an aspirational and experimental mindset. Take the beer list: two Peruvian beers, three Belgian beers, and a couple of well-chosen microbrews. Kudos to Walter: not a Bud Light or Corona in the house. The wine list also had nice variety, albeit more traditional and safe in it focus on recognizable South American, Spanish, and Italian varieties.

The menu showed promise across its chicken, fish, beef and lamb dishes. You have the choice of organizing your meal around small plates or regular entrees. For our meal, we chose from both menus: the causa de pollo (very flavorful and nicely presented), black grouper tacos (also quite good) and the seco de cordero con frijoles. I have had better loin lamb chops (these were cooked to medium when medium-rare should have been the target) but for $18.95, the quality matched the price. The cilantro sauce? Ok but not rich enough to be either pleasantly complementary or creatively contrasting. I was particularly fond of the Peruvian beans, though; my friend less so.

We weren't terribly impressed by the dessert menu -- again playing it safe with flan and pionono -- but the choice was moot since they were sold out of desserts on this Monday evening. Ah, the challenge of running a new restaurant!

I plan to return on my next visit to Naples in a month and half and it will be interesting to see how this establishment has evolved. I am optimistic.

We were so happy to learn that a new Peruvian Restaurant opened and were even happier after having lunch there. We were greeted by the co-owners Walter and Christina who are delightful and take special care of all of their customers. This is a family run business which really wants to please and we hope Naples residents will embrace their endeavor to bring a new cuisine to the area.

We really liked the rotisserie chicken with Peruvian green sauce and decided to return and the food was beyond our expectations. We had the scallops baked in a shell which were just added to the menu. They were succulent and in a delicious sauce topped with cheese. We then had the black grouper tacos which were in a homemade shell along with an unusual potato and shrimp cake pictured below. Everything was delicious and danced on your tongue.

Price are very reasonable and the service is excellent. There is outdoor seating and South American music playing to add to the ambiance.

Just when you thought it wasn't worth venturing to eat out in East Naples anymore, along comes this gem of a Peruvian restaurant! Run by a 20 something ex-New Yorker named Walter, it's like finding a gold coin in a box of Pennies.
For those of us living in East Naples, the restaurant choices have been sparse. Walter came down from NYC, with about 10 years of experience working in some of the most well known establishments in the city. He translated that experience into his little place, with an open kitchen and a cool ( not stuffy) New York vibe.
The menu changes every week, based on whatever is fresh and seasonal, and he changes the wine and beer selections as well. The first time we went, the food was so outstanding, that I thought it might be a fluke. So we went back a week later, and it was even better! His grandfather, who was the Chef for the Peruvian Embassy in DC, is the maestro in the Kitchen.
We've had the Ceviche, Seafood Rice, Steak stir fry, and the Lamb Chops with Cilantro in beer sauce....all outstanding. I understand his Rotissirie Chicken is the house speciality....we have to try that next!
Best of all, you're paying East Naples pricing for 5th Avenue quality dining. Walter and his family are humble, hard working people, with a true dedication to quality food and service. I think this place might make the top of your list too!
