We went to Chops to celebrate my wife's birthday. Both of us had the ribeye and they were excellent, tasty, succulent and cooked as requested. My wife's broccoli was undercooked (she does not like her vegetables to be overlooked but the broccoli needed more time). My baked potato was ok but the sour cream portion was mean. The wines were very, very good.
Service was no more than adequate. Our waiter seemed to be in some sort of rush, went through his 'scripts' as fast as he could, had to be reminded to bring bread to the table and never made eye contact. None of this helped to make it a special occasion.
The meal, 2 steaks, 2 glasses of wine and 1 dessert cost $155 and frankly the overall experience was not worth the money, even on 5th Avenue.
