Veranda E is hidden away on the premises of the Hotel Escalante at the intersection of Fifth and Third. It's hard to find but well worth the effort. The setting is incredibly beautiful and very romantic - the outdoor courtyard reminded us of Italy. Haven't seen anything this pretty anywhere else in SW Florida. Menu is California/Asian. Food is very good, though not quite great. Not a complaint, however - we both very much enjoyed our meals. (I had the short ribs and my wife had the strawberry salmon.) Prices were not at all unreasonable for the high-end personalized experience that Veranda E provides. Service was exceptional. Wine list was very nice with a good variety of wines and prices. Trust Marco the manager and sommelier - he knows his wine list and provides excellent reasonably priced recommendations that fit well with your chosen meals. Overall, Veranda E provides a wonderful dining experience and we will definitely be going back.
